[Andrej Karpathy @karpathy]

Dusting off this tweet from April because this gap in shared understanding of LLM capability is *widening*. It's now less "two groups of people speaking past each other" and more a sharp funnel.

- Napkin math somewhere around 6B people (~75% of the population) have barely come in contact with LLMs at all.
- Around 1-2B (~20%) are casual and infrequent users of free-tier ChatGPT-like products. This group sees derpy chatbots and treats them a bit like a better Google search, a writing aid, or etc. Maybe an agent tries to book you a flight. I have non-tech friends who (reasonably, imo) say they have not much use for it at all. Even many professionals outside of math&code are in this tier. For example, execs and many other functions spend a lot of their time talking to other people, so while they understand what is happening intellectually, it is still second-hand and a bit abstract.
- Now we get to professional use of frontier-grade LLMs in math&code. Somewhere around 20M people (0.2%) see first-hand that large, complex projects that used to take them weeks/months can now be completed by agents with a prompt. Building apps, copying apps, translating apps, decompiling apps from binaries... This has all happened very quickly and recently - less than 1 year ago, I was writing code manually by hand, typing memorized computer code commands into a code editor character by character, occasionally pressing Tab to autocomplete a little chunk of code.
- And finally we get to the ~5,000 people (~0.00006%) with access to frontier-grade systems internally. The external world has seen the preview. It looks like swarms of thousands of agents collaborating over weeks on software mega projects: minting zero days, running cyber attacks and defenses at machine speeds, discovering new science, advancing the frontier of mathematics. Things that would have taken top professionals in the industry years of work. Meanwhile, human review and comprehension are starting to fall behind. For example, people are still involved in the "archeology" of the OpenAI-HF incident from many months ago. Mathematicians may be poring over the 722 manuscripts on frontier mathematics for a while.

The funnel is driven by a combination of factors:
1. The impact scales with ambition, problem size, and horizon. A question with a paragraph answer barely stresses the system. You need a reservoir of big, difficult problems that you really care about. This aspect drives the consumer / professional dimension of the funnel.
2. The jaggedness of the system (which I have written about a lot separately). Capability peaks in domains that are digital, verifiable and economically valuable. This is because LLM capability emerges from reinforcement learning on verifiable rewards on a curated environment mixture driven by revenue potential. This aspect primarily drives the area (e.g. math&code) dimension of the funnel.
3. Access. Free-tier, paid-tier, internal.

So this is the weirdness of the moment. The general public has mostly not interacted with these systems. When they have, it looks like a derpy chatbot. The majority of professionals still see only a modest uplift. And a small sliver of professionals are experiencing the vertigo of the curve going vertical. And it is all happening at the same time.

We'll be spending a lot more time trying to understand the outputs of language models. A few thoughts, tips & tricks:

Writing. Something I've had success with: Ask your LLM to explain something in ASD-STE100, it's a controlled language specification originally developed for aerospace maintenance documentation. LLMs well-versed in this language and it comes with heavy constraints on clean writing style that I often find a lot more readable. Sometimes I've tried to soften it a bit e.g. ask for "80% of the way to ASD-STE100" because the spec is quite stringent. But even better:

Diagrams / images. Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram. These can be a lot easier to process, parse, and understand. But even better:

Web pages. Ask for output "in HTML" to get a beautiful, interactive webpage. LLMs are getting really good at frontend and can create beautiful experiences, animations, etc. But even better:

Explainer videos. The output format I am most bullish on is fully custom / bespoke explainer videos generated on any arbitrary topic. Experiment with things like "Create a 3b1b style video explainer on X. Use my ElevenLabs API key for audio narration". (you'd need an API key for the latter or you can ask your LLM to find you decent free alternatives that use your local compute). This is actually starting to work!

In summary:
- As LLMs get better, they will do more and more of the legwork autonomously, and a lot more of our work will rise up the abstractions into oversight and understanding.
- Luckily, LLMs can help here too because as intelligence and code are increasingly abundant, you can ask for large, custom, discardable software artifacts (e.g. web apps, video explainers) that would have never made sense to create before. Push the boundaries here and you'll be surprised.

Tamil Nadu govt has reportedly allocated ₹755.83 crore to give a 1-gram gold ring to every newborn in government hospitals.

A gold ring for every newborn.

This is not welfare. This is taxpayer-funded election jewellery.

Hospitals need doctors, nurses, ICU beds, medicines, neonatal care, ambulances and clean wards not gold-ring politics.

When public health needs investment, wasting hundreds of crores on symbolic freebies is daylight robbery of taxpayers’ hard-earned money.

Cockroach Party of India asks: will a gold ring save newborns, or will better hospitals?

Sub: Point by point rebuttal to Mr.Vembu's defamatory and malicious propaganda against previous Dravidian Government led by DMK.

"Our rural school Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam, which provides completely free education to rural children, faced delays getting approvals from the previous government."

Which is true, Mr.Vembu?

Your own public updates and records confirm that Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam (KKM) in Govindaperi, Tenkasi, has been actively, dynamically operational since 2020–2023.

By April 2023, the institution already housed over 130 rural students, employed 24 teachers, and was actively building a massive 75,000 sq. ft. campus facility. (Business Standard)

In June 2024, you posted on X: "Our rural school Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam, based on the NIOS open schooling model, is growing. We have even bigger plans for expansion!"

Tell us how a school allowed to function legally or setting a false narrative about absolute administrative roadblocks when you yourself tweeted about the growth and expansion with massive capital infrastructure expansion in 2023 and 2024.

Which is true, Mr.Vembu? Will you answer or hide behind fake rhetoric?

---

"Of course, significant money was demanded and we were told that was the only way, even if it is a completely free school."

Isn't demanding a bribe a severe criminal offense under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, Mr.Vembu?

For some one with deep connections to global RSS and Union gov. (BJP), shouldn't you (or wouldn't you have made this as a PR exercise if true) sought legal remedy by filing an FIR, and if the local Police is uncooperative - you had the remedy of Private Complaint and also cooperate with a Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) sting operation, or other forms of judicial intervention.

To date, you have not produced a single case number, an FIR copy, the specific names of any corrupt public servants, or any proof of a formal complaint filed through official state legal channels between 2021 and 2026.

Isn't this act of anonymous bickering on a social media lowers your stature of 'Global Tech Executive'?

And I wonder what motivates one of the richest man in Tamil Nadu to stoop so low to malign a Dravidian government with malicious, defamatory accusations without an iota of evidence or proofs.

When even an ordinary employee afraid to publicly assert Dravidian identity for fear of backlash from the manager or HR (who are mostly aryans). But the largest tech company Zoho founder ready to go to any extent to paint a Dravidian gov. in bad light for only one reason.

----

"After @TVKVijayHQ came to power, approvals have happened quickly and automatically. I am very happy to appreciate this positive development in our state."

A quick search reveals KKM runs on the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) model. The NIOS is a Central Autonomous Organization operating under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The statutory power to grant, process, or manage educational accreditation rests exclusively with the Central NIOS Regional Centre and Delhi HQ, not with the provincial State Board or local state political leadership. The State Government has zero domain over central open-schooling certifications.

Furthermore, if the "approvals" you reference were localized state public safety clearances such as building stability certificates under the Tamil Nadu Public Buildings (Licensing) Act, 1965 or fire safety audits - these are strictly bound by non-negotiable checklists mandated by the Supreme Court post the Avinash Mehrotra (2009) ruling to protect school children.

If an administration bypasses these rigid safety protocols to issue certificates "automatically" as a public relations concession or political favor to an influential industrialist, it directly undermines the rule of law and public safety.

"We applied for approval during the previous government through the normal process. I never posted this on X or anywhere else. We endured the delays and 'demands'."

You are again trying to cause confusion without clearly saying what approval you sought and what were denied. What do you mean by "normal process"? Care to share the details? It contradicts earlier claim of alleged extortion.

An application cannot simultaneously go through bureaucratic process while being completely gridlocked by illegal financial demands. Doesn't make any sense at all, other than an attempt to protect sanghified TVK.

The claim you are making about "enduring demands" in silence for years -- proves that you are simply lying with a malicious intention to mislead your followers and paint a negative impression about the previous government (Dravidian Government). As mentioned earlier, you are not some ordinary farmer or a labourer for the system to be lazy and careless. The system usually bends for people like you.

You are not only rich, highly influential figure hence need to behave with responsibility and integrity.

Why do you have to endure demands when you could have called the press and shared your agony or approached legal system. Don't you have faith in India's legal system? Are you an anti-national?

---

"The approvals came through automatically after the new government came and I am thanking the government in public. I hear of similar positive experiences from many other people. That is a very refreshing change."

Because KKM was already a fully functional, expanding open-school learning center in 2023 and 2024 under its central NIOS framework, it remains completely mysterious what specific, state-level educational corruption suddenly cleared in 2026 that had supposedly blocked you from teaching rural children for the preceding three to four years.

Either apology and take back your statement or provide full details with facts and evidence.

"We had nauseating, disgusting levels of corruption in Tamil Nadu under the DMK. This is known to the entire Universe, not some grand secret. It reached such Himalayan heights, their own Finance Minister, someone not corrupt who was caught up with the corrupt crowd, was complaining about it (sadly for him his remarks became public and he was demoted to became the IT Minister)."

It is unbecoming of your stature to dig so low to rely on unproven and contested "Audio Clips" which have been debunked as AI or fraudulently mixed to defame the DMK gov. (refer: https://t.co/g2MzrFVPpO)

Further, it was clarified by the Minister himself that the clips were maliciously fabricated, deeply edited, and structurally manipulated using advanced audio tools to sow political division.

"We had nauseating, disgusting levels of corruption in Tamil Nadu under the DMK." - It shows no matter how much money you have in the bank or how influential, we the people of Tamil Nadu cannot expect decency and dignity from you. Resorting to such malicious, nauseating gossip-mongering from you is totally expected.

---

"This is not about ideology. Even the Marxists of Kerala, then allied with the DMK, would say how deeply corrupt the DMK was. I have always appreciated people like Shri Balagopal, the former Finance Minister of Kerala, for his devoted public service."

Under the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, your filmsy comparison will be thrown out as it carries zero relevance or evidentiary weight.

"Instead, they spend their time attacking a messenger like me as a TVK stooge or a Brahmin or a Sanghi and so on."

I have said it before, you are not a Brahmin. It takes such an audacity and intellectual dishonesty to claim yourelf Brahmin which means 97% of your followers as shudras and you are telling them that you are superior and they are inferior. Now that is nauseating and disgusting thing to do so.

Periyar has taught us to call people who wield supremacy & hegemony over others as 'Paarpaans'. That's what you are a - Paarpaan.

---

To sum it up, answer these questions to prove your case:-

1. why you claimed a school was blocked when your own public statements showed it was fast expanding?

2. why no FIR was filed for alleged extortion?

3. why a state government is being blamed for a central NIOS process?

4. Why flaunt your varnashrama superiority against your own followers?

Dear Akshita,

When facts become uncomfortable, labels become the argument. If the evidence is wrong, debunk it.

If not, stop shouting ‘party troll’. Calling someone a troll isn’t a rebuttal. It’s an escape from facts.

Journalism questions evidence. Propaganda questions the person. When you can’t defeat the facts, you attack the source. Facts don’t belong to any party. Your inability to counter them does. Ad hominem is what remains when facts win the debate.

A ‘party troll’ accusation is often the white flag of a losing argument.

YOU LOST IT AKSHITA….

3.Never play defense - control the conversation, don’t react to it.
4.Speak in one unified voice - every leader, every cadre, echoing the same message at the same time.
In short: Speak the truth. Speak immediately. Speak loudly - in one language, with one purpose.
Additionally, the party should onboard dedicated paid influencers who will work in close coordination with party cadres to amplify our message powerfully across all digital platforms.

Most importantly, this entire digital force must be guided and governed by well-trained, responsible, and reliable leaders - individuals who are deeply committed to the party’s values and capable of steering this team with discipline, clarity, and vision.

With respect.
