Grow Wales Green is looking to find new solutions to reduce dependence on importing protein feed and N fertilizer by growing more 'Green Protein' crops.
The project is working with three Welsh farms who are developing their systems to grow protein crops.
Average yields recorded to-date in 2022 are 3.4 t DM/ha from dairy farms and 1.9 t DM/ha from Beef and Sheep farms. The 2022 average to-date is 2.5 t DM/ha, significantly above the 1.8 t DM/ha recorded over the same period in 2021 @TheAHDB@HybuCigCymru@qmscotland
