Can only be impressed by Crystal Palace.

Palace were a solid mid-table side a few years ago. They didn’t play particularly entertaining football, but an epic atmosphere and some maverick players generally kept them away from too much danger.

But the right managerial appointment and some first class recruitment… a lovely mix of the best of the EFL and some Bundesliga star dust, has won them the FA Cup and put them 1 win away from a European final.

How many clubs could lose Olise, Eze, Guehi and deal with a very public managerial departure in the space of a few seasons and still be this successful?

I’m slightly biased… I’m based in South East London and if I ever have kids their Grandad is a huge Palace fan…

But I see Palace as an inspiration for what can happen to my club Sunderland! Forza Eagles! 🦅
