@JoshEberley People won’t realize it. It is and will remain one of the most liquid and desirable cards in the hobby. Markets reinforce themselves. It has already survived massive grading booms/pop surge.
Cavs were heavy dogs against the Spurs, who had 3 HOFers in their prime, and one of (if not the) greatest coaches of all-time in Popovich.
Larry Hughes, the Cavs’ 2nd leading scorer during the season, made just 1 basket in the Finals (on 10% shooting from the field.)
Robert Horry of the Spurs said they only had to guard LeBron, and noted that the Cavs’ head coach Mike Brown (former Spurs assistant coach) was just running the same sets as in San Antonio, which made scouting and defensive rotations remarkably easy.
BREAKING: The get-in price for Game 3 of the NBA Finals is now $9,365, shattering the all-time record. What in the world. (Ticket prices via @TickPick)
@IIIII23IIIIII@TheHoopsAlerts@BrettSiegelNBA There is no downside if you’re Curry.
Curry fans =\= LeBron fans.
If they lose, Bron fault. If they win, it’s “Steph’s team.”
KD-esque.
Steph should try to make this happen.
@CardsMax Because this is his absolute peak. Who wants to buy the top? There are no MVPs in his future.
Wemby is in the finals. He has many more DPOY and MVPs in his future.
Sports are already more resilient. They continuously regenerate emotional stakes (championships, rivalries, records, iconic moments, etc.)
Sports fandom is enduring.
What is the engine that will drive and keep Pokemon above sports forever? Nostalgia cycles are strong, but not permanent.
@aceofcards89@JohnErickson107 There’s no way it’s this high. I don’t even know if 1 of every 20 pieces of mail I get is cards, and I order a decent amount. Lots of junk in the mix, My guess is a fraction of a percent.
@FairyCardBrther@CardPurchaser Definite upside in grading the Maye, and it’s true that markets reinforce themselves, so Maye being declared a good investment last season should prevent floor from falling out on the card this year, but will need him to come out firing for it to spike — tough choice.
