A parliamentary inquiry panel has found all 3 charges against former Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma proved in the cash recovery case.

The panel said substantial unexplained cash was found in a storeroom at his official Delhi residence after a March 14, 2025 fire, while evidence was not properly preserved and his explanations about the cash, its source and ownership were found unsatisfactory.

Remember Kapil Sibal, who attempted to stall the impeachment process against Justice Yashwant Varma after over ₹15 crore in cash was reportedly found at his residence.

Sibal said:

“They want to destroy a judge. With all responsibility, I say Justice Varma is one of the finest judges that I have argued before. You ask any lawyer of the High Court and Supreme Court—there is not a whiff of any wrongdoing by this judge. The government wants to take control of judges’ appointments.”

अब SC/ST केस पे मुआवज़ा भी 40% तक बढ़ाने का प्रस्ताव दिया है, जबकि 95% SC/ST केस झूठे होते हैं। बीजेपी ने न्याय व्यवस्था की भद्द पिटवा दी है।

SC/ST Act के जानबूझकर झूठे आरोप लगाकर कानून का दुरुपयोग करने वालों के खिलाफ भी कड़ी सज़ा का स्पष्ट प्रावधान होना चाहिए। वैसे ये प्रावधान सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 2018 में ही किया था लेकिन हमारे महामहिम 1008 श्री श्री नरेंद्र दामोदरदास मोदी ने उसको पलट दिया।
