Well, I think in 2020, even after Galwan crisis and in the midst of an active conflict with China, the then Delhi govt installed 150,000 China made Hikvision cameras all around Delhi.

Later after some people made noise, the rest 150,000 were changed to some Indian company. But I think that too may be just rebranded Chinese.

Now the new Delhi govt has already started phasing out the Hikvision cameras. But not all have been phased out yet. This must be completed quickly.

I am not trying to raise alarm or create panic. But how can a country be sovereign if our security cameras are not ours and firmly in our control?

If any tom, dick, and harry can do what is shown below in attached post, it is very likely a power like China or US are watching India 24x7 from the inside. Wherever they want.

I hope GoI / MeiTY issue orders to change all security cameras in the country in every state and organization to some CERT-IN vetted India manufactured, highly secure ones.

Also, along the border areas and in sensitive places, the private cameras that shops and homes use outside their premises must be govt authorized and vetted. Or the enemy can use local agents, hack, or hijack them to watch troop movements etc.
