Alana White - 2026 St. Joseph
In the middle of playing the big with the skills of a forward, she is a strong defender who is great at altering shots and rebounding the ball at both ends of the court. She showed a willingness to move without the ball and made herself an active target for her teammates to find with the assist. Alana displayed confidence scoring down low and wasnโt afraid to start with her back to the basket when going to work in the paint. In todayโs game of heavy perimeter play at all ages of basketball, itโs refreshing to see a younger player who is adept at using their post footwork to elevate themselves as an offensive threat.
The Next Jump: She played a little out of control and was almost too aggressive at times going after blocks instead of staying in her defensive position. With that said weโd prefer to see a player who is active versus one who trots back on defense. Just something that she should watch out for in the future.
Bella Harmon - 2025 St. Joseph
Bella is great at attacking the basket and scoring through contact after getting into the key. She is an unselfish player and has the court awareness to find the open teammate if her shot isnโt there. She is someone who doesnโt take plays off and will sprint the length of the court to get back on defense or push the tempo in transition after clearing the glass. To compliment her playmaking, she loves to take her opponent off-the-bounce and uses her handles to keep the defense guessing. Once she does get past her defender, her footwork and length allow her to create space for her shot or finish over the defense at the rim. Able to play a variety of positions as a big guard, she has the opportunity to be elite.
The Next Jump: Bella has a solid combination of skills and athleticism to be an impact player at both ends of the court but could look to extend her offensive range to behind the arc and improve her three-point shot. Look for her to continue adding to her game to compete at the next level.
Shout out to @fairmontprepgbb & St. Josephโs for coming out to the MAC to scrimmage today! All 3 teams definitely got better, IRON SHARPENS IRON!!!!
Best of luck this season!!
