@Jeff_Dewees “Intractable” is spot on. Plenty of hubris too. Lots of work to do —with a sense of urgency—if they want to bring leagues back. Adapt or fail…
@Jeff_Dewees@AustinBeard55’s two seamer claimed eleven or twelve bats in 2021. His nine inning perfect game got 0️⃣coverage from the national legion. Something to be celebrated was largely ignored because the PA Legion ⚾️ leadership didn’t care.
@Jeff_Dewees There are solutions. They all require adaptation & open-mindedness & a willingness to change. Like any other product or market, if you are losing consumers, you can compete by offering a better product OR hope that “brand loyalty” and the “back in the day” theory succeeds.
@Jeff_Dewees We had to buy balls from a sole source vendor when we could buy a dozen for 15 bucks cheaper elsewhere…for the exact same ball. And don’t forget…80% of legion players had their season end last week. Be a great time to develop a post-season for those kids to get more reps.
Lebanon County (PA) League Playoff Bracket and Final League Standings. Fredericksburg qualified for Region 4 tournament by virtue of regular season championship. Tourney winner gets additional berth. @palegionball
2 perfect games on the same night in Pennsylvania.
Hamburg's Tristian Baer and Fredricksburg's Austin Beard both took their turn on the mound back on 6/23 and they both achieved perfection.

Pitching for Fredericksburg Legion on 6/23, @CLSD_Schools grad and @NCCAthletics baseball commit @AustinBeard55 threw a 9inn 17K perfect game for Fredericksburg Legion Baseball, winning 1-0 in extras. @palegionball@legionbaseball Last 9inn in Legion looks to be 2010 in MN.
The perfect game follows a no hit performance in 6inn mercy rule game on 6/17. @AustinBeard55 takes the mound on Wednesday at 7pm at Wenger Field in his last regular season start.
Nice AB for @AustinBeard55 driving in two. The @CCHSFalcons Senior and @NCCAthletics baseball commit was 3-7 with three RBI and three runs. Pitched a one hit- two K inning to close out game two.
