@DarranSF Not a specific book that I remember but I did read parts of my mum's romance books back in the early 80s and thought I could do that ...and later....better. ๐๐

@LucyChalice Same. It's about mindset. I work in a room alone but how I present myself for work helps. I wear perfume because I like the scent of it. Plus (& here's the bit if you want to psych eval me), I used to present radio and always reapplied my lipstick before I was on air.
@VickyBall3 Change is fine - when we've instigated it because we're ready for it but when it's out of our control we feel vulnerable. Just know, Vicky, that it hurts because you cared. How many people can say that about their roles? People have benefited from your input. ๐

I've just finished this and loved it. I was drawn to it by its beautiful cover and the blurb made me want to read more. It's a beautiful love story with supernatural elements. If you'd like to support an indie author @sjbwrites I'd highly recommend this one ๐ฅฐ
I finished A Parting Gift.
Draft 1: 29 days to write= 87.5k.
Draft 2: 19 days to develop= 112k.
Draft 3: 11 days to trim = 106k.
That's just under 2 months making it the quickest novel I've ever written w/ the largest word count.
Letting it rest B4 going to my betas.
