2020 Spartan Girls Soccer State Champion rings were presented to our amazing athletes and coaches tonight under the Chapel Oak at St. Johns Country Day. Congrats on an awesome season Spartans.
Congratulations to Junior, Maddie Moody, on her commitment to further her academic and soccer career at Davidson College. Way to go Maddie!!! @madelinemody
Players: It doesn’t matter how talented you are, you’ll never outperform unhealthy habits, a poor diet, a lack of effort, cooperation & work ethic, or a terrible attitude. You may get away with it for a while, but eventually it’ll catch you. Don’t let bad habits be your downfall.
Congratulations to Spartans varsity girls soccer coach, Mike Pickett, on being recognized by MaxPrep as one of the top 100 coaches in the country. Our Spartans are fortunate to have such a wonderful coach leading them on and off the field.

Players: The point of HS sports isn’t getting a college scholarship. It’s learning cooperation, loyalty, communication, being a good person & working with others in good times & bad. If a scholarship comes from that, great. But either way, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Today's Spring Senior Athlete Spotlight is on thrower Kylie Rodriguez! Check out Coach Livingston's interview with Kylie at https://t.co/ktBfOLos06! #StJohnsSpartans
St. Johns is honored to congratulate Sheila Hodges on EIGHT college acceptances she recently received: Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Brown, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern, University of Virginia, Notre Dame & Georgetown. Way to go, Sheila! #StJohnsSpartans
Players: How you spend this off-season could make/break next season for you. Improve your footwork, shooting, ball handling & conditioning. Don’t waste time telling everybody what you’re going to do; show them what you’re doing! Make your mark through your devotion to improvement
Players: If you really want something, prove it by putting in the required work. Stop talking about it & go after it. Too many players are all talk & no action. You want your dreams to come true, but you don’t want to work to make them a reality? Let me know how that works out.
Players: Last season no longer matters. Whether you had a mediocre season or one for the record books, your personal development on/off the floor/field should never stop. No organized practice or games right now, but that’s not an excuse to stop working. Consistency is key.
7 High performance HABITS for athletes that deliver high performance results:
1. Prepare ahead of time
2. Arrive early
3. Hydrate all day
4. Snack often
5. Take a nap
6. Focus & Turn your phone off

All of the above require ZERO talent or skill.
There’s only 1 rule when it comes to productivity: do what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it. Don’t make excuses or talk yourself out of it. That’s the easy way. Use your mental toughness & motivation to push forward & get it done. It’s the only route that works!
