@Seanfrank I’d offer that absent the media/Democrat axis - the Republicans would figure out a way to privatize SS and Medicare and balance the budget. Any attempt will result in electoral defeat as happened to the GOP under Bush. Their ability to set the narrative gives them a big edge.
