On the morning of October 7, after learning of the infiltration of terrorists into Kibbutz Be'eri, Yoram, one of the kibbutz's veteran residents, set out to protect his daughter and grandchildren.
He said goodbye to his wife Nili, took an antique gun that had passed down in the family, got on his bicycle, and rode to the house of Ruthie, the daughter.
When he arrived, he made himself coffee, sat on the porch, and waited for the terrorists.
About an hour later, they arrived, and after a brief gunfight, Yoram was killed.
