@0xTsubi The one place I could see running some kind of reward system is for relay nodes, because they are expensive, and tend to not participate in consensus. The rewards could be based on cost to run instead of amount staked, and so no risk of exponential centralisation.

@algorand_dev Haha yeah, the “just money” side of web3 is what gives me the most concern. What I like about algo is that it’s accessible enough that it can go beyond that. Is it the foundation or inc’s job to foster one or the other 🤷‍♂️.

@algorand_dev I do see your point though. A killer app would do a massive amount for the ecosystem, even if the end goal is more corporate focused. (What big business doesn’t have to take into account mobile devices for instance).

@algorand_dev I don’t think Algorand is framing itself as a consumer tech company (I don’t know if it should or not). But perhaps more Web3’s answer to some weird hybrid of something like Oracle, AWS and Visa. Far from glamorous, but massive and important.

@algorand_dev The one flip side I can see however, a killer app is more likely to come from a bottom up approach. And I agree, Algorand probably isn’t doing all they can be doing to adopt developers who might stumble across such a thing.

@algorand_dev I think Algorand is betting on top down adoption. If the exec says “we’re now supporting Algorand”, then a bunch of devs in the company are now Algorand devs.
