Something that’s getting lost in convo on slow ERA spending. Many landlords are refusing to accept the money. There are 2 main reasons:
1) those in hot rental market have new incentive to evict - raise rent for new tenants, make more $ in the long run.
This is a policy that only makes sense if the U.S. hates earning billions of dollars in higher education exports.
It's cruel, pointless, and needlessly destructive.
It'll also mean that U.S. universities have fewer resources to spend on domestic students.
