My daughter has come out of school today with a letter for a camping 'experience' -1 night £112! 50% subsidy for FSM - £56 is more than many families have to buy food for a week. And this is 1 night!
#poverty really does rob those affected of experiences they really benefit from.

@CPAGUK and this is after buying swimming costume, swimming hat and goggles for 6 weeks worth of swimming lessons. Not optional. Unless you can't afford those things in which case you're excluded by not having the right equipment!

@CPAGUK £112 for a 1 night camping experience; to be paid in full within 5 weeks. My daughter wants to go & will; to others this is more than a week's worth of food & fuel! 50% subsidy for FSM is still not enough to give kids living in poverty the opportunity.

Funded tuition group running in Spennymoor is reaching children who may otherwise not be able to access tuition. It provides learning & social opportunities to help children feel less alone and to help nurture a sense of #community and belonging.
