If you think I’m brutal, you should see what my staff prepared to send out as soon as the first results came in… good job billionaire tech bros! Bye bye Mahan!
Dear @MattMahanSJ - your city unions have a proposal at the table on AI use and worker displacement. Given your incredible proclamations about guardrails and not being beholden to the AI billionaires, can we get a TA? Asking for a friend.
@MattMahanSJ Developers love this argument: eliminate the fees that pay for infrastructure and services and somehow the savings magically become affordable housing. In reality, taxpayers subsidize the project and prices stay the same. This is the big lie Mahan and billionaires keep telling us
We’re 100% all in for @PeterOrtizD5 A true champion for AFSCME members, union families, and working people across San José. He shows up, delivers, and fights for strong public services and real affordability. Proud to endorse. ✊
@MattMahanSJ Back to basics’ means libraries emergency services, clean water, and clean parks. It doesn’t mean handing out millions to billionaires and developers while core services shrink. If you raised $7M in seven days, it’s worth asking WHOSE basics you’re really talking about
@MattMahanSJ California needs middle-class solutions: affordable housing, fair taxes on billionaires, and leaders who won’t let tech hollow out public services. Corporate handout politics and personal branding aren’t it.
@MattMahanSJ Here we go again with the same tired scare tactic We’ve been told for decades by the rich and powerful that if the ultrawealthy pay even a little more, they’ll flee en masse and take jobs with them, and it never happens. This is just a politician parroting billionaires again STOP
Wishing you all a peaceful Thanksgiving. Grateful for the people who show up, support others, and make our communities stronger. Hope today gives you rest and good food.
Have a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃 and don’t be tricked by non-union candy—buy the union made stuff—it’s the best in the land anyway just check out this list. See you out there! 👻
@MattMahanSJ AI can play a role, but ‘back to basics’ means putting residents first. Our union has a bold plan to ensure AI protects city services and people, responsibly, not for political points.
We are heartbroken that our Union brother, Max Ryan, was tragically taken from us at the age of 26. Max worked as a Community Activity Worker in San José’s Housing Dept. Every day he supported our community’s most vulnerable residents.
Our hearts are with Max’s family, friends
