@azsweetheart013 Awww, Amy, I’m so very sorry to hear this news.
Sending my deepest condolences to you, @nilslofgren, Dylan and Rose.
Remember, that between the first “hello” and the final “goodbye”, there was so much love xx
@MVZaGoGo Oh, I most certainly do. At the gig we met Robert Ellis, who was a photographer at Sounds magazine. He sent me some photos of Bad Company from the gig that night; I still have them, they bring back happy memories of a fun time.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS!
We are delighted that the jury in the trial of our member Jamie Michael has found him not guilty. Jamie, a former Royal Marine, was on trial at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court for a video he posted on Facebook about Axel Rudakubana. The Free Speech Union (FSU) paid his legal fees and arranged for him to be represented by solicitor Luke Gittos and barrister Adam King.
His prosecution for a video in which he urged people to go on peaceful protests was a grotesque interference with his right to freedom of expression and Mr Gittos wrote to the Crown Prosecution Service urging it to drop the charges. Unfortunately, this plea fell on deaf ears, even though it took a jury all of 17 minutes to find him not guilty.
It emerged during the trial that Jay had been arrested and prosecuted at the urging of a Welsh Labour politician. It’s a great pity the authorities didn’t resist this political pressure, given the amount of time and money that’s been wasted. People should not be threatened with imprisonment for expressing views which, however much the party in power may dislike them, are not unlawful.
The fact that a jury voted unanimously to acquit Jamie in just 17 minutes suggests that if the dozens of people arrested and charged for comments they made on social media last August had pleaded not guilty, many of them would not now be in jail.
We urge anyone who’s concerned they might be arrested in connection with something they’ve said on social media to join the FSU. We can provide you with proper legal advice and, if we think your case has merit, arrange and pay for your legal defence, as we did in this case. No one should go to prison for hurty words. I have thought long and hard about whether to share this judge’s sentencing summary as it is so explicit and devastating to read. And please be warned, it is graphic and heartbreaking to read.
But I feel that now is the time to fight hardest, to share all the truth however horrific this is, when the international spotlight is on our country.
To expose the true horrors these children experience and ensure public pressure for decisive action doesn’t fade away. Again.
And linked to the paltry sentences I just shared in my post about another gang who raped young children, I think people will understand why I have just not been able to let this go!
And until we have TRUE CRIMINAL ACCOUNTABILITY for all those with blood on their hands, I can’t let this go.
Abusers, senior police, senior social workers, council leaders, judiciary, prime ministers
Hang your heads in shame!

@MichelleDewbs@MichelleDewbs Bill says no action has was taken by Tories regarding grooming gangs. Has he forgotten about The Grooming Gangs Taskforce set up by Sunak in 2023? Over 500 arrested in first year

The Sentencing Remarks of Judge Peter Rook QC list more than these three defendants. Not a pleasant read 🤬
What does a new widow do on NYE? She listens to @BBCRadio2, opens a bottle and toasts her amazing husband. Courageous, wise, strong, creative and never dull. They didn’t call him the Pirate for nothing. Above all - the most devoted loving husband. Pls raise a 🥂to Johnnie Walker
@nilslofgren Amy is the best. One mighty strong woman. I’m 100% behind you and @azsweetheart013. Haters are going to hate, they know nothing else. They must live sad lives.
