@antdesu1 @EverythingOOC@CovfefeChan@elonmusk Because that’s what Elon does. Takes all the credit while doing none of the work. There are people out there who still think he invented Tesla 😂
@TraumaSoapBoxes I was talked through CPR on my late fiancé by the dispatcher. I was terrified I’d break ribs. She had to remind me that I couldn’t worry about hurting him. I want to learn how to do it correctly, but I know it would trigger flashbacks.
@karrie421@drjenwolkin Yup, and it’s been shown that urgency tends to help lower that barrier for us. So when the deadline is tomorrow, suddenly my brain can focus and kick into gear. I call it deadline dopamine 🤷
@NilkadN cPTSD partially comes from the fact that we were trapped in that situation with no way out. It’s not like we could just leave. We just had to endure. So even when things weren’t actively bad, it was the knowledge that the peace wouldn’t last and we’d be back in it again soon.
@headlesstess@ABCsofADHD This is why I get upset with people who suggest taking breaks from medication - studies show those of us with ADHD are far more likely to get into accidents when unmedicated. They want us to risk our lives for a couple days every week just so we don’t have to up the dose?? Ugh.
@HowtoADHD Something I think happened “yesterday” could have really happened anywhere between several months ago and this morning. Tomorrow doesn’t exist. A boring 30 minute lecture feels like 2 hours. 50 hours of a good video game also feels like 2 hours. And I’m always late 🤷
@HowtoADHD This might be well-known by now, but I love the fact that the human brain doesn’t finish developing until around age 26. The last part to finish developing is the prefrontal cortex, which is involved in things like decision making, impulse control, risk assessment, etc.
@DHAhole@HowtoADHD@0xDezzy Neurodivergent people tend to struggle more with poor proprioception and interoception! The first is why so many of us appear “clumsy,” and the second is why we often need external reminders for basic body needs like eating or using the restroom.
Not to freak anyone out, but there are still cases to come, including one that could shake the power of the federal government to its core. It’s called West Virginia v. EPA, and the most extreme ruling would declare that Congress lacks the power to delegate authority /1
@thehill They’re not even trying to hide it anymore. Not that it wasn’t obvious to begin with. Statistically, the Roe ruling will disproportionately affect BIPOC. Whereas all the rich white politicians can easily arrange for abortions for their mistresses.
@heatherw1981@simaba_@jeeyonshim Why is it always “well it doesn’t affect you so why do you care?” Like, wow, some of us are actually capable of caring about others in different situations. Stg this country’s individualism has gone way too far.
@dremilyportermd I know at least two people who immediately started the process of booking tubal ligation on the day the official decision was announced. I hope they’re able to get it - unfortunately it’s an archaic process that often need’s a man’s signature for some reason 🙄
@SrslyJosh@lessthanpleased Yes this. While AI bots like this can produce very convincing language, that is all it’s doing - finding the best fit for the response, based on numerous things including weighed responses.
