The Prophet Muhammad PBUH warned about one that will destroy most marriages.

(And no one talks about it.)

They still prayed together.

Still lived together. Still said 'I love you.'

But the marriage was crumbling.

Why?

The Cause?

Not what you think

It wasn't money.

Not in-laws.

Not even communication.

It was one habit... that quietly poisoned the love.

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"Beware of suspicion, for it is the most false of speech." (Bukhari & Muslim)

One word:

Su'al--dhann (Bad assumptions.)

What Su' Al-Dhann Looks Like:

"She's ignoring."

"She seems distant?"

"He's probably bored of me."

"He didn't pick up my call."

"They must be talking to someone else."

"They smiled at someone?"

All imagined.

All assumed.

Suspicion is slow poison.

Kills trust

Breeds insecurity

Turns hearts cold

Makes small things look massive

And worst of all:

"It treats your spouse like an enemy, not a partner."

"O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion. Indeed, some suspicion is sin." (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:12)

IT CONTINUES:

"Do not spy, nor backbite one another."

Suspicion → Spying → Conflict

Islam shuts the door before it even opens.

The Sunnah of Husn Al-Dhann

Your spouse is late?

"Have good opinion of people, even when unsure."

Assume goodness.

Protect your heart and theirs. -

It's mercy before judgment.

Your spouse is late?

Maybe they're overwhelmed.

They're quiet?

Maybe they need your gentle presence not pressure.

This mindset?

preserves love.

Rewire the Habit

Instead of: "They're probably hiding something."

Say: "Ya Allah, help me see them with mercy, not paranoia."

Instead of assuming: Ask gently.

Instead of accusing: Speak vulnerably.

Love dies in suspicion. It lives in trust.

And trust... is built on giving your spouse the benefit of the doubt.

Even when it's hard.

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"The best of you are those who are best to their families..." (Tirmidhi)

And the worst of assumptions can come right inside the home.

Don't let Shaytan turn you against each other -when you were meant to fight for each other.
