@PatrickPea60191@mattvanswol Home schoolers outperform kids in public education in most cases. This is just his local government trying to punish a family who made a freedom of choice decision.
The White House Faith Office is steeped in spiritual corruption. It will be irredeemably corrupt until Paula White is ousted and someone with integrity and pure faith in Christ heads it up.
I do want to partner with an explicitly Christian coalition who is impacting government for the good of our nation and the glory of Christ. But this isn't it.
If we can't root out corruption and deal with obvious frauds in our own Christian coalition then how will we be able to bring such benefits to the government we hope to influence. This fact haunts me when I look at the need for coalition building in the name of Christ.
"You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet" - Matthew 5:13
What is the way forward for those like myself who want to do more, not retreat, but also want a degree of integrity they can live with?
Open borders isn’t compassion. It’s the opposite. It shows zero care of the citizens being affected by it. Rapes, murders, kidnapping, housing costs….
A secure border where only those who truly need help and aren’t criminals are allowed in is a truly compassionate way of doing things. It cares for the citizens and those who truly need help.
@MikeWingerii Movie was terrible… and the emotions of one of the reporters felt forced when the disclosure was happening. I wish I went to see He-Man instead
@GreenJeanASSET@JoshWilliamsOH The only people who obey laws law abiding citizens while criminals (by definition) don’t. All you’re belief system would do is setup more victims
We can both agree congress is weak. But literally every politician has significant flaws. Throwing my vote away is not the answer. FYI, I did not vote for Trump the first time. I didn’t believe he was conservative in any way shape or form. He later earned my vote. And Democrats with their made up criminal accusations moved me even more his direction. And not just me… he just won the majority over it with his most recent win.
No, Jeff. I vote based on a candidate’s actual record, policies, and results not performative rhetoric or team jerseys.
I’ve criticized plenty of Republicans with bad character or flawed records when they’ve earned it (see: endless spending, foreign wars, or cronyism). But I also won’t pretend Trump’s flaws make him worse than the alternative when his administration delivered tangible wins: stronger borders, energy independence, Abraham Accords, criminal justice reform, no new wars, and an economy that was outperforming pre-COVID. Character matters, but so does competence and policy outcomes.
Your standard seems to be ‘anyone who impedes Trump’ even if they have worse ideology and zero chance of changing Senate policy. That’s not principle it’s opposition for its own sake. If character is your red line, apply it consistently instead of selective outrage.
@jchaddix@MikeWingerii Got it… you’ll vote for anyone opposed to Trump regardless of how bad their ideology and policy ideas are. I already knew that based on your previous comment but thanks for further confirmation.
James isn’t running to be a pastor. He’s running for political office, where he will have real power over education policy, school curricula, and laws affecting minors.
The core issue isn’t theology. It’s whether the state should encourage or facilitate the idea that underage kids can meaningfully change their sex or gender through social transition in schools, puberty blockers, hormones, or surgeries. Many of us believe that’s a profound medical and psychological experiment on confused children who overwhelmingly desist naturally if given time and therapy instead of affirmation.
You can reject the pastor test for both Trump and Talarico while still holding politicians accountable for policies that risk sterilizing or medicalizing kids before they can vote, drive, or consent to a tattoo. That’s not religious overreach. That’s child protection.
And as Christians we will call out wolves in sheep’s clothing whether they run for political office or to be a pastor.
@DustinPWilliams@pastorlocke Mike believes in the gifts of the spirit and could be called charismatic himself as he’s not a cessationist. If you’re going to make a claim about him actually provide data to back it up. Otherwise you’re just slandering because you don’t like him.
No they don’t. Trees (and plants in general) lack neurons, synapses, a brain, or any centralized nervous system like those found in animals. A nervous system, as traditionally defined, involves specialized cells (neurons) that transmit electrical and chemical signals rapidly for coordinated responses, sensation, and behavior.
