When we started the discount brokerage (flat fee per trade) model in India in 2010, we decided to charge the same fee regardless of trade size. The logic was simple: if the effort to execute a trade is the same, why should customers pay differently? We applied the same logic to mutual funds. We didn't launch MFs until we could sell exclusively direct plans.

You can't call yourself a discount or a low-cost broker if you charge a percentage fee on transactions, because there's no incremental effort in executing a larger order. This logic has informed all our product and pricing decisions from day one.

Anyway, @CoinByZerodha today is the largest direct mutual funds platform in India, with nearly ₹1.6 lakh crores in direct MF AUM, and all our customers have saved thousands of crores in commissions. Direct mutual funds are a no-brainer if you're a DIY investor.

It's interesting that most of the direct MF platforms that started when we launched Coin have either disappeared or pivoted to something else. The few remaining platforms are also rethinking their choice of offering direct plans. However, at Zerodha, we will continue to offer direct mutual funds for free.

A lot of investors still don't know the difference between direct and regular plans. If you are investing in mutual funds, it's worth checking if your investments are in regular or direct plans. If you are in regular plans and want to switch to direct, we can help.

@ChristinMP_ his new system is a pain for conductors. They struggle to close ticketing before the stage completes since each UPI payment takes time and a few retries for some. The sticker system was much faster. BMTC must consider lesser stages!

No matter who won or lost in each state, India's democracy has won yet again. And @ECISVEEP has once again done a tremendous job running elections for 4+ states - with almost the population of the US voting.

TVK's tremendous performance, INC's win in Kerala, and BJP routing an unpopular TMC in Bengal - all happened because India gave the power of vote to every citizen equally and fairly.

Next time, please don't fall for foreign psyops amplified by local politics that India's institutions are compromised, elections are rigged, or voting should be in paper.

The foreign forces and DS are trying to game India's democracy and make it malleable to them. Your favorite politician and party may win because of it temporarily.

But in the end, it is India and you who will lose in the long term. The foreign adversary will win without having to fire a bullet just making us doubt our institutions and hate our governments.

In the last many decades, the whole world has been heating up. Annual mean temperature in every country has been rising 1-1.5 degrees a decade.

But India has been an anomaly. It has heated up the least at 0.5-1 degrees a decade. This is a scientific fact acknowledged by climatologists worldwide.

India has also increased its green cover, tree cover in cities, and forest cover in the last decade or so. This is not India's own data alone.

This is data by UN in their Global Forest Resources Assessment – GFRA 2025 report based on satellite imagery, which can't lie.

India has also increased ecological conservation efforts in recent decades as its wealth grew. It has improved its populations of endangered animals like Asiatic lion, Rhinos, Tigers and many birds and animals.

This is much better than many other countries - even developed ones (where they will shoot a wolf, shark, or bear if they increase in population, get close to human habitation, and attack a human).

Anyway, there will always be programmed Indians who will come to discount India's tremendous achievements in Paris climate goals and in protecting its environment even as a highly populous developing country.

We can't do much trying to convince these DS programmed and blackpilled bots. Just watch the comments below. They will come to tell you how numbers are fake, how they saw it has become bad, or change the goal post to another topic to berate India.

1000 year old Chozha mural depicting Raja Raja Chozha worshipping Nataraja along with his three queens. The Chozha frescoes were discovered in a 7 ft wide dark passage around the garbhagriham of Tanjavur Brihadeeswarar/Peruvudaiyar kovil. This stunning discovery was made by S.K.Govindasami, a historian from Annamalai University on April 9, 1931.
