@bigrediam@gopTODD Exactly! The unpopular new flag ended up a "compromise" for 2 flags, just because the new flag was highly disliked by Utah, but the legislature wouldn't fully accept that we didn't want it. Now it's just been a divisive mess because the new flag was never for Utah or our heritage
@HYantes@gopTODD Exactly! We were lied to by the state flag commission and the governor. It was a bait and switch, and the referendum and initiative process is designed to be nearly impossible, but actually impossible when the state government fights against the citizens when counting signatures.
@SanCbf @gopTODD (the new flag is most loved and imposed on Utah by cultural revolutionists, who literally do not like Utah's actual culture and heritage. That's why "industry"
@SanCbf @gopTODD And yet, they lied to us when preparing the new flag for consideration. So we were mislead to believe we would be able to vote. That's not ethical representation in a republic.
In reality Utah loves the true blue flag with the state seal. That's why local parades keep using it.
@SammyJdot@gopTODD The blue flag was never a "bedsheet." That was just disparaging language the new flag people used to try to get people to dislike our own flag.
In reality, the blue Utah flag is dignified with the well designed state seal, & the "creative" new one is juvenile & dismissive.
@cowgrlmw@K10original@gopTODD Utah loves our true blue flag. We didn't need our state represented as goofy airport merchandise to feel deep devotion to our state.
The commie Cox regime did not play fair with the initiative and referendum. But more than that, they lied to us about having a vote!!
@davidhinckley@gopTODD Because cultural revolutionists think their flat art will inspire the states to abandon our cultural heritage & exchange it for juvenile celebrations of merchandise and meaningless geometric flag design?
Exactly. We can't have our nice blue flag because the legislature was duped
@shackfurr@gopTODD I agree the historic flag represents what Utah is for & our heritage. (Much better than the new one). But I disagree about the new flag on a shirt: I think wearing the flag on a shirt is juvenile and feels anti-Utah, especially when the new flag effort was so anti Utah culture.
@rednishikirider@gopTODD It has a UTAH symbol for "industry," but poorly and childishly done on the new flag, & the new flag has inspired you to think of religion instead of Industry. Bad move.
The original is much better, and includes the Utah symbol for Industry without being aggressively juvenile.
@JNHales@gopTODD New flag propaganda claimed that airport merchandise junk & being like Colorado or Texas where people wear the flag as apparel is what matters in a flag. But that ignored what really mattered about the Utah flag, including "Industry" & statehood in the USA. Silly merch = "woke"
@JNHales@gopTODD Also, the childish design of the new flag was supposed to be some kind of sophisticated "good design" and supposedly better than the state seal on blue. But that was merely a subjective opinion. Claiming subjective opinion is better than actual existing cultural heritage = "woke"
@JNHales@gopTODD Yes. Those who forced it on us were telling us that the original flag and state culture surrounding it were bad and needed replacement. They claimed the original flag didn't represent all Utahns, but that was a cultural revolutionist lie. Cultural revolution = "woke."
@SanCbf @lightisthecure@gopTODD The people who overwhelmingly said no to the flag to their reps were ignored.
You're so disingenuous, "San Giorgio." The people of Utah do not like this new flag, & even your banner image on here you're using an illustration that is trying to make the silly design look better.
@lahansen12@lightisthecure@gopTODD No it was not! I followed it closely and was eager for the vote promised by the governor.
Then, all they gave us was an online finalists poll that EXCLUDED a vote to leave the flag alone!! We were lied to and then forced a new flag down our throats.
Plus it's hideous & dumb
@csmaddox2008@RonaldMortensen@gopTODD Yes, it's flat illustration design, but it's also juvenile in both intent & execution.
Why? Because they were characterizing Utah as needing a facelift to be palatable to non Utahns. They wanted to celebrate the mountains more than the cultural history & context of statehood.
