Eagles edge rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka has been placed on the reserve/retired list.
The former 1st-round pick signed with the Eagles in March, but he was not with the team for much of the spring.
Padres manager Craig Stammen said that he, A.J. Preller and Nick Castellanos had conversations about Nick's role on the team in recent days/weeks. Castellanos "didn't really love" not playing everyday.
"We just kind of felt like this was the right time for him."
