@neil_mccormick It's their music, it's their creation, it's their musing after 40 years. Reinterpretation of the past is generally called wisdom. Everyone looking for "new" creativity is looking for it in the wrong place. Looking back with wiser older eyes is a unique form of the creative act.
@neil_mccormick The space between fans expectations (dare I say "need for") the U2 they love/know versus what journey the band decides to take is a strong indication of their continued relevance. This "playlist" stands on its own if you let go of all your memories built around the originals.
@laramie_graber Little children can be brutally mean, not yet understanding cultural/community boundaries. Might the same thing apply here? Oh yeah, happy birthday!
@nclgba@civicfcu An interesting fact. Judy was my first official boss, as my first official budget job was with Catawba County. Way to go Judy! Had I know she was going to be there....
@CM_CharlieReece @Bec_Shrader As a long time Durham resident and UNC grad I have learned to respect certain things I intensely dislike. It's a tough balance.
@saga_rocks@Super70sSports That album did much more good than harm during my personal virginity saga. But mainly I rode around in my best friend's Cutlass Supreme with velour seats dissecting this wonderful album.
@U2 Dad died when I was 16 back in '84. Two songs helped me back to the light.
1) Rejoice: "And what am I to do?
Just tell me what am I supposed to say?
I can't change the world
But I can change the world in me
Rejoice"
2) A Sort of Homecoming: "For tonight at last I am coming home"
