as someone who’s struggled with an eating disorder since middle school, I think a lot about how we’re helplessly watching certain female celebrities die in front of us. but this is anorexia; it’s one of the deadliest diseases. & while it’s absolutely tied to a larger cultural obsession with thinness, one that these celebrities contribute to, it’s also an serious mental illness they have little control over. I have nothing but empathy for them & I hope they’re able to recover.

caught between a rock and a hard place here because i DO think you can cook for yourself and save a lot of money while eating better but seeing a bunch of boomers posting wonderbread pb&j and a bag of chips going “i eat this for lunch an dinner five days a week” has me nauseous

There is nothing more dangerous than these “earned wage access” services that make you pay to get access to your paycheck a week or 2 early. Companies like Walmart are even calling this part of employee benefits.
