@PreK33@KidsDeserveIt When we first became Traima Informed we read The Boy Who was Raised as a Dog by Bruce Perry and Maia Szalavitz. It’s haunting but really hits the nail on the head!
@KidsDeserveIt Right now I’m getting my masters from ISU and the majority of my learning comes from that. Before then I learned from other teachers and PLC’s. #KidsDeserveIt
@KidsDeserveIt A1: I’m getting my masters and run a food bank for the kids at my school who depend on school breakfasts and lunches. When I’m not doing that I’m being a mom and a wife. #NoAppsNeeded#KidsDeserveIt
@Joshua__Stamper Thank you all. I’m just learning the benefits of Twitter for #PLN purposes. Please follow me and send me any names you think would be great for a 6th grade teacher in a Trauma Informed low income school.
@Joshua__Stamper I do a daily morning circle to “get rid of” the baggage from home and get ready for learning. After that, I use circles and conferences as needed throughout the day. I’ve also been known to do yoga after lunch to help refocus. #MasteryChat
@Mrs_Sihvonen@Joshua__Stamper @MrAustinA2 Since starting RP, our suspensions have gone down 90% in 2 years. The 10% are major infractions, such as destroying school property. It allows for a much more enjoyable environment when kids know where not just sending them away. #MasteryChat
@Joshua__Stamper We do a Think Sheet. Students go to a buddy room for 10 min to think about what they did and what they could have done better. When they return we talk about accountability and the effect of their actions. #MasteryChat
