Centre Responds to Naveen Patnaik's Complaint; Odisha Grameen Bank Manager Suspended Over Jitu Munda Claim Delay
In a swift response to a complaint raised by Leader of Opposition @Naveen_Odisha , the Ministry of Finance has informed that the claim of a deceased depositor at Odisha Grameen Bank's Malliposi branch in Keonjhar district has been settled, while disciplinary action has been taken against the concerned Branch Manager.
In a letter dated June 12, 2026, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary wrote to Naveen Patnaik, confirming that the account holder's claim amounting to ₹19,402 was settled in favour of Jitu Munda and two legal heirs after necessary documents, including the death certificate and legal heir certificate, were submitted with the help of local administration.
Naveen Patnaik had earlier written to the Union Finance Minister on May 2, 2026, highlighting the alleged hardship faced by the family due to procedural delays at the bank branch.
The Ministry acknowledged that while adherence to banking procedures is essential, such processes must be implemented with "due sensitivity, empathy, and effective communication," especially in rural and tribal areas.
According to the letter, Odisha Grameen Bank (OGB) has suspended the Branch Manager of the Malliposi branch. The bank has also issued an advisory to all its field functionaries to ensure compassionate and transparent customer service.
Furthermore, the Department of Financial Services has issued a directive to all 28 Regional Rural Banks across the country on May 29, 2026, advising them to strengthen citizen-centric banking practices and prevent recurrence of similar incidents, particularly for customers from rural, tribal, and vulnerable sections. #Odisha
Another banker lost. Another day of condolences. Another day of silence.
Bankers are dying, and the system carries on as if nothing happened.
Work pressure, staff shortages, and endless demands are normalized. Tragedies are forgotten until the next one occurs.
A banker's life cannot be treated as collateral damage.

The tragedy is not just that a banker died. The real tragedy is that toxic banking culture keeps creating victims while the system keeps calling it "business as usual."
Shame on you @IDBI_Bank
The hierarchy in Public Sector Banks is getting scary.
It feels like the moment you get promoted above Scale-3, senior management stops treating you like a respected officer and starts treating you like a street dog.
Absolutely shameful

TIM DAVID ABOUT HIS MIDDLE FINGER CONTROVERSY AND RCB'S TEAM ENVIRONMENT 🚨
"Honestly, I didn't want to do that, but I still haven't forgotten how I was treated in the past when I was with the Mumbai Indians. I wasn't treated properly there. In fact, during the middle of the season, I was told that I wouldn't be bought back for the next season. That's fine if you don't want to retain me, but I don't think it's right to tell a player something like that in the middle of a tournament. Even some of the owners spoke to me rudely.
At one point, I seriously considered leaving the IPL midway through the season, but I convinced myself to stay and complete it. After that experience, I decided that if Mumbai Indians ever tried to sign me again, I would refuse to play for them.
Now I'm with RCB, and it feels like home. The environment here is fantastic, and everyone treats me with respect. Even when I perform poorly, nobody blames me or behaves rudely. That's why I'm genuinely happy at RCB, and I would love to remain an RCBian forever."
Hello @TheOfficialSBI
It is being reported that, following the recent incident at SBI Junagadh, you have suspended both parties involved.
I would like to remind you that the Chief Manager was the one who was allegedly slapped, and despite that, he did not retaliate or strike his senior officer.
What was the Chief Manager supposed to do?
Should he have simply filed an internal complaint?
How was he supposed to face his family after being publicly humiliated?
In this case, neither SBI’s social media policy nor its officers’ conduct policy appears to be the central issue. Rather, the AGM’s actions could amount to gross misconduct, and it is the AGM against whom strict disciplinary action, including termination, should be considered.
SBI has earned immense respect over decades as India’s largest and most trusted bank. That reputation was built not only on business performance but also on institutional fairness. One hopes the final outcome reflects those values and strengthens employees’ faith in the organization.
Hi @UCOBankOfficial,
In timing of bankers comes under discipline and punctuality. Fair enough.
What about the out time?
Lets be punctual there too. Lets go home by 5.15 PM and after that.. those who still work s after 5.15 call them as slow worker.
Why only morning time?
