There aren’t as many Men’s college soccer programs because of Title 9. There are far more women’s soccer programs due to Title 9 and offsetting college football scholarships.

@TriceClones @flugempire Don’t forget the $Billions of dollars each year paid to these universities in grants, research funds, etc.

A simple 10% redistribution of funds to other universities would be significantly felt on BIG and SEC campuses.

@Time4RICO @ByPatForde It’s estimated that BIG10 institutions receive over $11 Billion in federal funding each year. Primarily for research, grants, etc. SEC is much lower at $4 Billion.

Reducing this funding by even 10% through legislation and budgeting (distributing those funds to other schools)…

The judge in King County would have 100% ruled for the player.

Player claims some sort of injustice and points to the already eroding legal precedence to actually enforce anything…and the motion would have gone to the player.

This is happening all over the country. And judges in King Country typically side with individuals over big entities.

Honestly, I don’t understand why you can’t have 10 conference champions and 14 at large.

Just like in the NCAA tournament, the top team gets the easier matchup. Every region and conference are included. Everyone has a chance.

And just like the NCAA tournament, after the first round…the cream rises to the top. SEC will destroy the MAC representative. But maybe a really good conference USA teams beats an at large.

First three rounds are home games for the top seed.

People would watch.

Once their Rookie contract is up, they can either choose to stay or hit free agency.

Again, this is not the end of the world, but to be dismissive that this won’t have an effect on roster creation is naive.

We have great culture and organization. But we are also geographically remote from most players families. That plays a role. Having a 9.9 income tax, especially compared to another offer that doesn’t or lower…will also play a role.

Player gets offered a $50 million dollar contract from two teams: with one having a 9.9 income tax and the other doesn’t. Thats a $5 million dollar difference and there will be players who will take the offer with no income tax.

There are two more seasons where this would not effect players salaries. In the NFL you worry about getting paid now.

The people saying the sky is falling and our teams will move are silly.

People who think this tax won’t come into the equation on what players we sign and for how much…are also silly. I see this as Seahawks having to pay more for players.

Exactly! I live in the northwest. Nobody cares about NASCAR here. Why? One major reason is the closest race is Vegas or Phoenix. Nothing to tie our region. The beauty of the NCAA tournament, is almost every town in the lower 48 has a team in the tournament within 250 miles of their town. Everyone is included!!
