REASONS WHY I SUPPORT TUTAM:

1. Statehouse allocation increased by Kes 6.8 billion to Kes 13.64 billion from Kes 3.98 billion, a 100.6% increase. Meanwhile, hospitals lacked drugs, doctors, nurses and therapists went months without salaries, schools lacked capitation, and the new higher-education funding model was doing mathematics even Einstein could not understand. 4. Instead of providing a conducive environment for Kenyans to create jobs for themselves, King Zakayo opted to bill us to build office 🏢 blocks and named them affordable housing to create short term employment and allegedly solving a housing crisis that was never there since almost 3/4 of houses in urban areas remain unoccupied due to affordability issues and not lack of housing. 5. The king oversaw the cost of fuel raising to Kes 207 a litre and blamed an Iranian war that only affected Kenya in the entire world 🌍, after realising the war excuse was a lie, the king decided to solve the problem he created via unnecessary taxation on fuel by reducing the fuel price by Kes 9/- and went to tell wananchi he has reduced the cost of living. 6. Instead of fixing NHIF, the king created a money looting scheme called SHAH that has been a catastrophic failure! The king has continued to publicly declare SHAH as functional despite many hospitals and users stating otherwise. Social media of late has become incredibly toxic. The ability to switch on a camera or type a few words has given everyone a platform, but not everyone has the wisdom or responsibility to use it well. The loudest voices often get the most attention, not the most informed ones.

We’re witnessing the normalization of disrespect. Insulting strangers has become comedy. Mocking people going through difficult moments is considered content. Empathy is often mistaken for weakness, while cruelty is rewarded with likes and reposts.

Relationships and marriages are constantly under attack. Gender wars have become a daily spectacle, with men and women treating each other as opponents instead of partners. Love is increasingly portrayed as transactional, where people are valued for what they can provide rather than who they are.

We’ve also normalized recording everything. Instead of helping someone in distress, some people reach for their phones first. Tragedies are now viewed through camera lenses before they’re viewed through compassion.

Everyone wants to be heard, but very few want to listen. We’ve become a generation that is quick to react, slow to understand, and reluctant to admit when we’re wrong.
