A family doctor who has worked in both Canada and the U.S. just laid it out clearly.

In the U.S.:
18 patients a day.
20–25 minutes per visit.
Stable salary and benefits.
Workday ends by 3:45.

In Canada:
You don’t get 25 minutes, patients can die just waiting to see a Dr.
You only get paid if you see patients.
Take a vacation or get sick? You earn zero.
Want to make more? Work longer hours and drown in paperwork, phone calls, and advocacy.

This is the system Liberals keep calling the best in the world.

Doctors are leaving.
Wait times are exploding.
Patients are suffering.

And the people running the country still pretend everything is fine.

Thomas Sowell refuses the permanent-failure narrative.

He groups Jews, Chinese, and Japanese as economic overachievers and Blacks, Puerto Ricans, and Mexicans as underachievers — measured strictly by income and occupation. Then he immediately rejects the idea that this labels anyone permanently.

Groups start at different points for cultural and historical reasons. It’s a relay race. If a runner begins 50 yards behind and is now only 40 yards behind, he has gained ground. Calling him a failure for not having closed the entire gap is dishonest.

Black occupational progress from the 1920s to the 1950s was phenomenal. Recent Chinese immigrants in some Chinatowns still live in deeper poverty than the average Black American. The “every group except Blacks closed the gap” story is simply not true once you look at actual timeframes and actual people.

The primary defect in sovereignty-association by administrative agreement is that it keeps authority and accountability separated. An Indigenous government is accountable only to its own citizens, while the provincial government is accountable to every British Columbian.

If the province gives a numerically small, membership-based government decisive territorial power over projects, land or resources affecting non-members, and the wider provincial tax base continues to provide services within the territory in question, then provincial ministers will bear the political blame for all of it.
