Naledi Pandor Says Parents Must Play Bigger Role in Maths and Science
Former minister Naledi Pandor says South Africa will struggle to improve its Mathematics and Science results unless families become more involved in their children’s education.
Speaking on a podcast, Pandor reportedly said parents in countries with strong academic performance take a more active interest in their children’s progress.
She argued that teachers cannot carry the responsibility alone, saying families also have an important role in helping children succeed academically.
Her comments have sparked renewed debate about parental involvement and South Africa’s ongoing education challenges.
