It's the hardest and most overlooked part of most of the change activities IMO. It's also, arguably, the most crucial. It doesn't matter how amazing your efforts appear to be from where you're sitting if the people you're trying to help are on a different bus.
Is it a bit too harmonious in your teams?
If it feels like everyone is just agreeing all of the time then it probably means people aren't saying what they think for whatever reason
How do you promote 'good conflict' in your teams?

A Meeting or a Movie?
I really liked this quote from the 5 dysfunctions book.
Before we all start to have a hundred meetings take place across the next 5 days, let's take a view and ask....
....How many of these meetings would i substitute for a movie?
I can honestly say having heard this section that some really exciting thinking is taking place backed up by some clear action. Thinking more around wider perceived systems and interconnecting things is refreshing to hear
Who’s tuning into the 2021 @UtilityWeek Customer Summit? #YorkshireWater's CEO Liz Barber will call for reforms to regulation to help #water companies work with others to meet the challenges of Covid recovery & #climatechange. Follow this thread for updates throughout her speech
Listening to some interesting convos at the @UtilityWeek conference today. Really great insight from a number of industry leaders around some complex challenges in such a critical sector

P.S. you don't actually need to do a line up to find out, but that would be interesting and i'd love to watch along if possible.
Have a great Friday!
There were about another 6 red lights flashing and one girl trying her best
She’d been trying to turn the lights off for ages, it was like whack a mole
I looked down the supermarket and there were 2 more senior people watching her
Come on, that’s not the way is it
If you lead a team, check this out!
5 questions you should ask yourself to understand how much of a ‘team’ you really have
I’ll summarise them here
1. Trust
2. Conflict
3. Goals
4. Accountability
5. Confidence
If you’re working on these, you’re working on improving the team
In most businesses there are ALWAYS invisible men and women, a lot of them are senior leaders.
Some people know the first letter of their name, some have even heard them talking but they haven’t seen them.
If you were offered invisibility would you use it in this way?
I asked my first question in clubhouse this morning and honestly, it really helped me to think around a big challenge I’ve got. There’s definitely a space for these conversations
It's that time again…….you've set the behaviours you want for the business and the team have been told.
But no matter what you do there is one critical factor that I see missing time and time again from this whole process….
….the Leader!
Great to have both Jack Brown and Callum Hicks onboard as we start the next phase of our journey.
