Friday night. Crown Casino Melbourne. Chandeliers, marble, the usual glittering noise. The desk asks for Check-in ID, Membership. Responsible gaming limits.

Skip does not slide a licence across the counter. He opens the DDI app.

Not just PHP. Node.js has also announced security releases for October 21, with HIGH-severity vulnerabilities affecting its 26.x, 24.x and 22.x release lines.

If you run either stack in production, keep an eye on official advisories and apply patches promptly.

Security maintenance doesn't stop at your application code. Your runtime matters too.

We recommend Cisco users disable the Smart Install (SMI) auto-loading feature on all NSS and DIB network devices to mitigate exploitation by remote attackers. Have you taken this action? Read more: https://t.co/e3XM9taNjI #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth

❗ ALERT ❗

We are aware of critical vulnerabilities across multiple Fortinet products. As a priority, individuals and organisations should apply available security updates. For further mitigation advice, read the full alert 👉 https://t.co/ZvG92JhTDN

Most systems work like this:
They collect your full information and store it in one central place.
Those permanent records can be hacked, sold, or used in ways you never agreed to.

@AverageJohnEVR 🛑 KYC Data Collection
ZKPs (and the broader verifiable credentials + selective-disclosure model) are superior to the “upload and store everything” approach because they keep the sensitive data with the user and only prove the necessary facts.

[Skip's ID @SkipID88]

@thinkingcrypto Centralized databases keep proving they can’t be trusted. ❌ The better approach is XRPL’s user-controlled Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) digital identity credentials. They establish a true off-ledger privacy model your identity never gets exposed on the blockchain.

[Watcher.Guru @WatcherGuru]

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce calls to end mass KYC data collection, warning it puts crypto holders at risk of phishing and physical attacks.

Pierce says the current KYC/AML system creates massive databases of sensitive information that can be hacked, leaked, or exploited.

She's pushing for zero-knowledge proofs (ZK proofs) that could verify users meet regulatory requirements without exposing their personal information.

🚨JUST IN: SEC Commisioner calls to END mass KYC data collection.

Hester Peirce warns existing KYC/AML frameworks create huge databases of sensitive user data, making them prime targets for hacks, phishing and even physical attacks.

She is pushing zero-knowledge proofs as an alternative, allowing users to prove compliance without exposing their personal data.

[Diana @InvestWithD]

🚨WAIT… THE SEC IS NOW TALKING ABOUT USING CRYPTO TECH TO FIX KYC ITSELF 😳🇺🇸🔥

Instead of COLLECTING your name + address + income + personal documents over and over again ❌

@HesterPeirce is ARGUING that cryptography could let you simply PROVE you meet the requirement WITHOUT EXPOSING all the data behind it. 🤯

👉 KYC without creating another giant database of your identity.

To me, THAT is where crypto gets really interesting. 🤫

Dear @AlboMP learn from smarter people than you.

The government must enhance and advance its personal identifier storage architecture, create better federated identity for private consumption.

Less money helping your Union buddies and more money protecting Australians by updating very old and antequated systems.

Identity should be #decentralized, #sovereign, and #unified.

As a result, the solution should be based on the #W3C recommended framework for digital identification and include:
🔹 Holders
🔹 Issuers
🔹 Verifiers

Meet Skip. He’s checked in the modern way with DDI.
✅️ No full documents handed over.
✅️ No permanent copy of his personal details stored somewhere else.
✅️ Just the proof that’s needed, controlled by him. Thread on why this matters 👇

[Skip's ID @SkipID88]

In a digital and AI world, your identity and personal data are constantly requested. Centralised systems create permanent records that can be breached, sold, or misused. DDI flips the model:
✅️ You hold the keys
✅️ Data stays with you
✅️ Only selective proof is shared
