@HaileyLennonBTC A tweet thread is devoid of the nuance, but the hard part is in getting a quantum computer to tell you the solution state. There is lots of good progress and q computers have applications to a certain set of problems but we are likely years away from it being a threat to BTC

@HaileyLennonBTC This is a threat to Bitcoin because it relies on asymmetric key pair encryption - therefore if a quantum computer can exist in the private key state it could theoretic break encryption that would take supercomputers many years to break currently 3/

@HaileyLennonBTC In a traditional computer a bit is either 0 or 1. In a quantum computer it can be both at the same time. This therefore means that a quantum computer with enough qbits can exist in all states to a hard problem including the solution state simultaneously. 2/

@jillruthcarlson Recently (1989 - 1990) in the UK, there was the poll tax. First brought in, in Scotland and then the rest of the UK 1 year later. It was very unpopular and there was mass non-payment. It was abolished and replaced with a different tax in 1992.
