This isn’t for everybody…
But boy am I dreading travel baseball this summer.
Way too many non-baseball people coaching.
No feel for the game. Loud voices. No baseball etiquette. No understanding of arm care. Treating every game like Game 7.
Baseball people know.
The #1 skill missing from today’s athlete is mental toughness. Refusing to hold oneself accountable to individual and team goals. Blaming others for circumstances. Not fighting through adversity. Pouting and poor body language. Physical skill can only take you so far. Get tough! #DoingDirtWork
Travel baseball can be different—if things don’t work out, there’s often another team to go to.
High school baseball is tougher. Sometimes you get one shot, and if you’re cut, there’s no switching schools.
It’s a different reality & part of what makes it mean a little more.
Highland knocks off #3 Marlboro to advance to Sectional Class A Final. Kiera Bishop and Kailani Angiolillo had 15 pts. each and Logan VanZandt added 12. Best team win of the year at the right time!

To every incoming freshman baseball player:
High school baseball goes fast.
You’re going to blink and it’ll be senior day.
Enjoy the ride. It doesn’t last forever.
