For those interested in the game KCD and its historical war setting, today, March 23rd, 1403, marks the sacking of Skalitz in Bohemia.
The Margraves Moravian Wars, which began in 1380 and ended in 1405, are among the many little-known and underestimated conflicts.
Dozens of villages were pillaged, and towns and forts were besieged, largely forgotten due to a lack of detail and lost records. There were dozens of similar sackings like Skalitz, including one that ceased to exist altogether: Cakovice, east of the city of Kolin.
Finding names, statistics, and events from these wars is like finding gold nuggets, and I hope to write posts with details about this conflict, which Warhorse wanted to commemorate. Like other medieval wars, this one is filled with dark secrets and incredible twists.
