@JoshDaws Great series, especially the behind-the-scenes park stuff and old TV shows (Patrick McGoohan's ruled). Though I also think it introduced trigger-warning intros in media ("...this production hails from a barbaric time, entirely unlike our present Modern Enlightened Utopia, etc.")

@Nerdrotics Nice. Always wondered how this compared to the cleavage-and-carnage of Savage Sword. Yeah, the latter's magazine format freed it from the Comics Code... but there's still that odd paradox of an artist being more creative working within restrictions...

@YoDanno @threelinestudio Admittedly games were always a theme in his work (Gonna Roll the Bones, the boardgame with Fischer, etc). But it was still really cool how someone with Leiber's stature embraced the hobby, right from its inception.

And even then, it's not enough. Nolan can't say "well, it's required for an Oscar". He ALSO has to justify his compliance with lame artsy gobbletygook, in order to stay in the game. It's a despicable humiliation ritual... but then he must REALLY want that gold statue...

@Drunk3po That was always the lame Achilles Heel with all these toy-based '80's toon franchises: the writers would really work hard at making the audience care for the characters. But then next season arrives, and MUST feature the latest molded plastic - so say goodbye to your old friends.

@gregnacu It's the physical-media bits getting inserted and spat out that'd be a problem. Way back when, my school had purchased one of the very first Quadras that were vertically-oriented, and within a month, its floppy drive was damaged by students jamming in their disks incorrectly...

@razorfist I always wonder what goes through a colorist's head whenever they work on Rob's stuff. Presumably they just concentrate on one safely-cropped section at a time, and so avoid the Lovecraftian descent into madness that viewing the entire image would surely bring.

@QTRBlackGarrett Good stories always transcend politics. Though in the case of SF and fantasy, I do miss the ignorance-is-bliss days, when it took considerably more than a few keystrokes to discover the worldview of an author. (Seeing the Harlan Ellison at I-CON '88 in particular was a shock...)

@Nerdrotics Not sure if it matters, long-term. There'll still be new footage of excised book scenes, which'll be trivial to change with AI by the series' end. So purist fan edits (combining both productions) will be something else entirely - and I bet Rowling already foresees this happening.
