A 22-year-old meritorious student, Srishti Mishra from Lodha Purwa village in Ajaygarh tehsil, Panna district, Madhya Pradesh, topped her BSc exams and ended her life the very next day by consuming poison.

She had been suffering months of blackmail and sexual harassment by a local youth named Barkhu Thakur.

In her final video recorded before suicide, she broke down in tears, saying her life was completely destroyed and she could no longer face her family.

Barkhu Thakur has been arrested on the basis of her suicide note, chat records, and the video evidence.

This is not just a personal tragedy.

It is a failure of the system that could not protect a bright, hardworking girl from continuous harassment despite her clear distress
