Climate litigation is not a silver bullet, but it is a powerful arrow in the quiver
Last week, I had the honour of leading a session on “Climate Change before the Courts: Emerging Trends, Theories, and Opportunities” at a training organised by @Greenwatch_Ug & @ug_lawsociety.
It can’t single-handedly reverse the crisis. It’s one of the most impactful tools in the fight, a lever that advocates can pull to hold governments and corporations accountable protect vulnerable communities and spark systemic change.

Happening today, 17th June 2026, and tomorrow, 18th June 2026, the CLE Training on Strategic Public Interest Climate Litigation organised by Greenwatch in partnership with the Uganda Law Society (ULS) is bringing together legal practitioners committed to advancing environmental protection, climate justice, and human rights.
