Premier Ford wants people to “get off your ass and start working”, meanwhile he has been on break from the legislature since June (which was started early), and has one of the worst attendance records at Queen’s Park of any Premier in Ontario’s history. #onpoli
Yesterday, Premier Doug Ford made disparaging remarks about teachers. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the Premier @fordnation or other members of the Ford government have shared harmful rhetoric about teachers. This pattern of disrespect is deeply troubling and must end.
Such generalizations not only undermine the hard work and dedication of teachers across our province, but also perpetuate a damaging narrative that fails to recognize the critical role teachers play in supporting student success.
Rather than resorting to divisive rhetoric, I urge leaders to engage in constructive dialogue with educators. Our teachers deserve respect and support, not over-the-top bluster that leads to the unjustified vilification of teachers across Ontario.
Opening up the Greenbelt wasn’t an oopsie or mistake. It was blatant corruption by the Ford government trying to make Premier Ford’s friends richer. There’s a difference. #onpoli
NEW: The cost of staffing the premier’s office under Doug Ford has more than doubled since 2019, according to salary disclosures, far outpacing his predecessor Kathleen Wynne.
Ford now has the most expensive Premier’s Office in provincial history.

So let me get this straight. The #tdsb#pdsb#ocdsb and #tcdsb have the guts to take TikTok, Meta, and Snapchat to court, but they lack the intestinal fortitude to even speak out about the harm done by successive governments' deliberate underfunding?! #onted
Wow. $1 billion of taxpayer money spent on agency nurses and PSWs… all while the Ford Conservatives were fighting nurses and public sector workers in court to keep our wages frozen. I thought Premier @fordnation’s reason for this was to save money? #onpoli
It should be easy to fix the recruitment and retention issue in education. Increase wages/salaries significantly and dramatically improve working conditions. Isn't this what employers in the "real world" would do?! #onted#cdned#edchat
The Ontario Liberals built most schools and hospitals you have taken credit & taken photo-ops for. You tried to build housing on the Greenbelt to enrich your friends, which failed immensely. #onpoli
Had the Ford Conservatives paid us in the first place instead of putting through an unconstitutional law & fighting workers in court, they wouldn’t be having to pay billions to make up for this. Fiscal responsibility? I think not. #onpoli#Nepean

Slap in the face! #onted leaning on unqualified teachers.
They’re just grabbing a warm body to fill the void! The situation will only further deteriorate until working conditions and salaries improve. #cdned#edchat

Teacher shortage has staff across Canada working 'in survival mode'. Schools are relying on non-teaching staff, non-certified teachers to wade through shortage. Very few people want to be a teacher. I wonder why?! #onted#edchat#cdned

I know I’m going to make people salty but @theJagmeetSingh is right to keep this government going.
The only people who benefit from an election are the conservatives.

”Tämä maa on arvoilla rakennettu. Luottamuksella itseensä ja toisiinsa. Ottaen vastuun itsestään ja muista, kukin mittansa mukaan, ja tuntemalla, mikä on oikein tai väärin. Sellainen on maailman onnellisin kansa.” https://t.co/Ok0PxfVDi1
It should come as no surprise to the Ford government that Ontario’s teacher recruitment and retention crisis is a mess of their own making.
Instead of taking responsibility for the crisis and engaging in meaningful consultation with teachers and education experts to strategize solutions, the government continues to avoid responsibility, underfund public education, jeopardize quality learning, and pursue its misguided #onpolipriorities.
📖 Read #ETFO’s JOINT STATEMENT with @AEFO_ON_CA, @OECTAProv & @osstf responding to @sflecce’s recent comments about the crisis: https://t.co/lu8ujdm23v #onted
If @Sflecce truly wanted to address #onted's teacher shortage, he'd start by addressing retention by listening to educators about the dumpster fire that's public education today.
Desperate Doug is trying to distract Ontario citizens from his failures, flip-flops and scandals.
If he was actually interested in hearing from Ontarians, he would have held a referendum before selling off our healthcare system, the Greenbelt, and ServiceOntario. #onpoli
This is a major win for workers. This government wasted years and taxpayer dollars trying to uphold an unconstitutional Bill to suppress wages. The Ford government needs to accept this ruling, stop fighting workers, and start addressing the crises that Ontarians are facing.
