🇩🇪 Germany’s Chancellor Merz:
Nobody threatened Russia. Not NATO. Not the European Union. Not Germany.
Ladies and gentlemen, the only thing that truly threatens Russia and Putin is the radiance of democracy.
Ukraine was on its way into the European democratic family, and that is precisely the real danger to Putin’s regime in Russia.
And you in the AfD know that this is the case.
Thank you, @PrimeministerGR Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for your warm Independence Day message and Greece’s steadfast support. At the heart of the Greek word “democracy” are the people and their power to decide. Ukraine is defending exactly this right today — to choose our own future, free from aggression and coercion. We deeply value Greece’s principled stance that borders cannot be changed by force. Upholding this principle today requires increasing pressure on Russia and making the cost of its aggression ever higher until it ends this war. Grateful to Greece and its people for standing with Ukraine.
🇺🇦‼️ Zelensky answered the question of whether Russia will attack NATO countries
💬 “He does not know how to end this war without a large-scale occupation or a major victory for his society. He does not understand how to do it. It is easier for him to find some smaller country. It will not matter to him whether this country is a member of NATO or not. He wants a quick victory. Be 100% sure that he will win, occupy or destroy all authorities. And it can be any country,” the President of Ukraine said in an interview with CNN.
🇩🇪 Germany is reportedly drawing up secret plans to stop pro-Kremlin "traitor states" from blocking NATO troop movements in the event of a Russian attack, - The Telegraph
Chancellor Friedrich Merz's government fears the far-right AfD could win control of eastern states such as Saxony-Anhalt or Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, allowing regional governments to delay military deployments through permits, policing, and bureaucratic obstruction.
Officials are reportedly exploring legal ways to override state governments during a national security crisis while staying within Germany's constitution.
Rome conquered Greece in 146 BC when they burned Corinth to the ground. And then the strangest thing in ancient history happened. The winners spent the next few centuries desperately trying to become the losers.
It actually started before the final conquest. When the general Marcellus sacked Syracuse in 211 BC, he shipped boatloads of Greek statues and paintings back to Rome, and the city went crazy for it. Suddenly every rich Roman had to have Greek art in his house. Decades later Cicero built an entire court case around prosecuting a governor named Verres for looting Greek masterpieces, and Romans ate it up.
Then came the schools. Wealthy families started buying Greek slaves specifically because they were educated, and handed them the job of raising their children. So the sons of the men who crushed Greece grew up speaking Greek, memorizing Greek poetry, and learning philosophy from Greeks. The elite eventually sent their teenagers abroad to Athens and Rhodes to finish their education, the way people today send kids to study overseas. Cicero did it. Julius Caesar did it.
Their gods were Greek gods wearing name tags. Zeus became Jupiter. Hera became Juno. Aphrodite became Venus. Ares became Mars. Same myths, same family drama, mostly just relabeled.
Their entertainment was borrowed too. The first big Roman playwrights, Plautus and Terence, basically adapted Greek comedies into Latin. Their doctors were Greek. Their architecture leaned on Greek columns, the Doric and Ionic and Corinthian orders you still see on bank buildings today.
And the art obsession left a strange fingerprint on history. Romans loved Greek bronze statues so much that they mass produced marble copies of them. A huge chunk of what people walk past in museums today and call "Greek sculpture" is actually a Roman copy. The Greek originals melted down or vanished long ago. The knockoffs are what survived.
Not everyone was thrilled. Cato the Elder spent his whole life warning that Greek culture would rot the Roman character. He sneered at Greek philosophers, distrusted Greek doctors, and wanted them kept out of the city. And then, as an old man, he quietly sat down and learned Greek anyway. Even the loudest hater caved.
The trend went all the way to the top. Virgil wrote the Aeneid, Rome's national epic, by openly modeling it on Homer. The emperor Nero competed in Greek games and toured Greece like a superfan. Hadrian was so obsessed he grew a Greek philosopher's beard and poured money into rebuilding Athens. And Marcus Aurelius, master of the entire Roman world, wrote his private journal not in Latin but in Greek, because that was the language of serious thinking.
The poet Horace nailed it in a single line: captured Greece took her savage conqueror captive. Rome won every war on the battlefield and then handed its whole soul to the people it had beaten.
@loribolo@visionergeo Seems plausible. As russians always call previous dictator a traitor and all his decisions a cover acts of destruction of russia. While only new one is the best one.
‼️‼️🇷🇺🇨🇳 BREAKING | Beijing has just delivered a stunning geopolitical betrayal to Moscow—plunging a dagger directly into Putin’s desperate pivot to Asia by freezing the Kremlin's crown jewel energy project.
According to explosive reports from the Wall Street Journal, China has indefinitely suspended all negotiations with Russia regarding the construction of the massive "Power of Siberia-2" gas pipeline. The pipeline was designed to reroute hundreds of billions of cubic meters of natural gas originally bound for Europe directly into Chinese markets, serving as Moscow's primary economic hope to replace lost Western revenues. By halting the multi-billion-dollar project indefinitely, Beijing has signaled that it refuses to bail out Russia's collapsing energy economy on Putin’s terms.
This freeze represents a catastrophic strategic defeat for Russia, exposing the brutal reality of its asymmetric dependence on Beijing. With Europe permanently locked out and China walking away from the negotiating table, Russia’s massive gas reserves are effectively trapped in the ground with nowhere to go. This move proves that China views Russia not as an equal strategic partner, but as a vulnerable, junior partner to be exploited, leaving the Kremlin's long-term economic survival in absolute tatters.

🚨 Sec. Marco Rubio nailed it in front of global officials exposing far-left terrorism.
“You are here because two weeks ago a 72-year-old woman was burned over 80% of her body in her own home in Greece. She died after a firebomb attack because her daughter dared to run for office.”
“Far-left political terrorism is not some new invention or conservative talking point. For most of the modern era it was the dominant form of political violence.”
“You are here because Berlin suffered its longest blackout since World War II this winter. An attack left tens of thousands without power in the freezing cold and killed an 83-year-old woman.”
“You are here because a month later a 23-year-old in Lyon died from traumatic brain injuries after far-left militants beat him to death on the street.”
“You are here because your leaders are stabbed and shot, your businesses bombed, your railways sabotaged, and your police beaten and burned.”
“This evil is real. It is getting worse. We can no longer deny or ignore it. It is time to crush it forever.”
We must stand strong against this rising threat. America First means rejecting all political violence.
BREAKING: A Hellenic Air Force F-16 made an emergency gear-up landing at Zakynthos Airport, Greece, following a landing gear malfunction.
The aircraft caught fire after landing. The pilot safely exited without ejecting.
