Karakoram Highway reopens for traffic at Chilas to Raikot section but improvement work is in progress. Recent rains battered KKH from Raikot to Basham as mud slides, rockslides etc damaged this single supply line to GB.

Travellers to GB may take extra caution as rains have triggered landslides on KKH and Shahrah Baltistan. KKH is blocked at many points in Upper Kohistan due to which passenger and cargo vehicles are reportedly stranded at various points. latest SITREP
Roads being cleared of snow in forward areas of Dist Astore GB. GB DMA has mobilised heavy machinery to hilly areas of the region to clear link roads to ensure restoration of roads' connectivity during harsh winter as part of winter GBDMA contingency plan.
Aga Khan Agency for Habitat donates 150 winterized tents to GB DMA whch wll bolster preparedness plan of gbdma in winter. the head of gbdma extends gratitude to AKAH for their generous donation which will help to meet shelter-related needs in affected areas.
