Ferrin from Crisis Response International met Penny in London, KY—still shaken, still standing. She had survived the EF-4 tornado huddled in what was left of her home, dogs by her side, bricks crashing down around her in the dark. Her family made it out. Her neighbor didn’t.
These aren’t just news stories. These are real people, mothers, fathers, children—trying to find hope in the wreckage.

The damage in London, KY is violent and catastrophic.

Homes are slabbed, trees are debarked, and debris is wind-rowed.

At least 9 are dead in the county. Depending on construction this could be EF4 damage.

Sadly, I have memories of passing by those bullies in the school bathroom and being excited because I knew they would smile or talk to me because there wasn’t anyone else around to witness the fun they would have being mean to me.

I encourage everyone to leave the cellphone behind for a minium of 2 hours each day. Go out for lunch. Take a walk. Leave your phone at home or in the car and go do something! You can almost feel your brain rewiring itself. A strange sensation. And it feels good! #Unplug
