Subject: Request for Compensation for Controllable Delays, Cancellation, and Major Disruption
Hello Delta Support,
I am requesting compensation for a series of controllable delays, a cancellation, and multiple failed rebooking attempts that caused significant disruption to my travel.
Here is my exact timeline:
•Original flight: 6:00 PM on November 14
•Delay #1: Moved to 8:00 AM the next morning
•Delay #2: Then moved again to 12:30 PM
•Cancellation: The 12:30 PM flight was cancelled
•Rebooking attempt: Moved to a 2:30 PM flight
This was a full-day overnight delay, followed by multiple additional delays all caused by a controllable issue (aircraft/maintenance). None of these rebooking attempts ultimately got me to my destination on time, and I incurred:
• A full day+ of lost time
• Parking expenses at my home airport
• Significant disruption to my schedule and commitments
My delay was far more severe than many cases where Delta has issued $300–$500 eCredits for minor delays (including someone I know who received $500 for a 2-hour controllable delay).
Given the extent of my disruption, I am requesting:
1.Reimbursement for my out-of-pocket expenses (parking receipts attached)
2.A Delta eCredit of $600–$1,000 for the severe inconvenience
3.Additional goodwill SkyMiles, considering the magnitude of the controllable disruption
I appreciate your help resolving this fairly and quickly.
Thank you.
