People say “reach out if you’re struggling”
but when you do, they disappear.
They watch your status.
They scroll past your pain.
They protect their comfort instead of your life.

And then if the worst happens
those same people post tributes.
“I wish I’d known.”
“They were such a kind soul.”
“Check on your friends.”

But we did reach out.
Over and over.
Quietly. Desperately.
We were ignored because our pain was inconvenient, messy, or didn’t fit the narrative.

Judge: And now you're asking me to make their mother help you?

Husband: Exactly.

Wife: Your Honor, he asked for this!

Judge: What do you mean?

Wife: He told the court I was an unfit mother. He fought for full custody and won.

Judge: Husband, is that true?

Husband: Yes, but I never said she couldn't help me.

Judge: What kind of help are you asking for?

Husband: I need her to take them some weekends. Pick them up from school sometimes. Watch them when I have work. Things like that.

Judge: And what does she say?

Husband: She says they're my responsibility because I asked for full custody.

Wife: Because they are!

Husband: They're her children too!

Wife: And you told the court I wasn't fit to raise them!

Judge: Let's go back.

Judge: Why did you ask for full custody in the first place?
