Our current strategy, striking Iranian ships & military targets while applying sanctions, is more likely to cause a mass casualty event which compels us to escalate than it is to open the SOH or bend Iran to our will.

It’s Sisyphean—Iran has proven for 47 years that it can & will endure sanctions, and since our launching of this war we’ve been unable to exact a victory via military action.

With this strategy, the only path forward is escalation. And that’s exactly what both the neocons in the U.S. and the hardliners in Iran are hoping for.

POTUS has indicated that he does not want this to happen, but it’s also clear that he doesn’t want to leave without a “victory.” What is not being explained to him, however, is that the longer we leave our troops & ships within striking distance of the Iranians, the more risk we assume that we’ll end up taking more casualties, which will force him into the expansion of a war he wants out of.

We need to reset the terms of the deal by removing our troops & ships from the region. This takes away Iran’s ability to drag us back in. Only then can we realistically use economic leverage to get the SOH open without risking a disastrous escalation & the expansion of this foolish quagmire.

24 to 36 hours.

Currently, the forward movement is on a northwest trajectory there’s still a lot of uncertainty about where this system will eventually end up computer models have been all over the place however the National Hurricane Center does have it going west but all the other solutions have it going other directions.

Due to the low axis placement and timing created uncertainty for this Labor Day weekend Alaska low which has created some good news for our region much cooler weather across California, which is welcome news from the sweltering heat wave that we had last week by as much as 10 to 15° some isolated areas up to 20° cooler along coastal zones from San Francisco down to San Diego definitely feeling like meteorological fall least for until Saturday.

Jacinta Marto was only a child when the apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima changed the way she saw life forever.

After that, Jacinta did not live like an ordinary child. She prayed more. She made sacrifices for sinners. She became deeply concerned for people who were far from God.

She was not trying to make people afraid. She wanted them to understand what she had learned at such a young age: our life here does not last forever, but eternity does.

That truth can be easy to forget today. We spend years planning for money, comfort, careers, homes, and retirement. But how much time do we spend preparing our souls to meet God?

Jesus spoke clearly about repentance, judgment, Heaven, Hell, and the value of one soul. The saints believed Him.

Jacinta did too.

And once she understood what eternity really meant, she could no longer live as if this world was all there was.

You may never look at a ladybug the same way again.

The “lady” in ladybug is not referring to just any lady. It refers to Our Lady, the Virgin Mary.

For centuries, Christians in Europe connected these little red beetles with the Blessed Mother. There is even an old medieval tradition about how that connection began.

The story says farmers were watching harmful insects destroy their crops. With their food at risk, they turned to the Virgin Mary and prayed for her help. Soon, red beetles appeared in the fields and began eating the pests that were destroying the plants. The farmers saw this as an answer to prayer and connected the beetles with Our Lady.

We cannot prove every detail of that old story today. But the connection between the ladybug and Mary is very real and became deeply rooted in European Christian culture. Even the National Park Service notes that the word “lady” came from the Virgin Mary, or Our Lady, and was connected to the beetle because it protected crops by eating harmful pests.

In English, names like “ladybird” and “ladybug” developed from this connection to the Virgin Mary. In German, the insect is still called Marienkäfer, which literally means “Mary’s beetle.” Similar Marian connections appeared in other parts of Europe too.

But there is another part of this history that is especially beautiful as September begins.

September is traditionally dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. And the seven-spotted ladybird, one of the best-known ladybugs in Europe, was traditionally connected to the Seven Sorrows of Mary. The Oxford English Dictionary records the tradition that its seven spots were seen as symbols of the seven sorrows she suffered.

Those sorrows remember some of the most painful moments of Mary’s life: Simeon’s prophecy, the flight into Egypt, losing Jesus for three days, meeting Him on the road to Calvary, standing beneath the Cross, receiving His body after His death, and watching Him be laid in the tomb.

This is not a doctrine of the Catholic Church. It is an old Christian tradition. But what it points to is deeply Catholic.

Mary suffered because she loved Jesus. She remained faithful when her heart was pierced with sorrow. And every one of her sorrows points us back to her Son.

That is why the Church celebrates the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15, and Catholics have traditionally dedicated the month of September to remembering her sorrows.

So think about this.

A tiny beetle that you have probably seen your whole life carries a name tied to the Mother of God.

Earlier Christians looked at ordinary things around them and found reminders that brought their hearts back to God. Even something as small as a ladybug could remind them of Mary, her suffering, and the love that kept her beside Jesus all the way to the Cross.

The next time you see one, you may never see it quite the same way again.
