@madokafc1@0bserver4 What did PT Pindad do after first domestic APC fail? They bought VAB license from French.
To this day, PT Pindad cant develop 8x8 from ANOA, tried with Pandur II, and now army has to import APC from Turkey.
@madokafc1@0bserver4 About XTC-02 with faulty design. There are two protypes: XTC-02 (2022) & XTC-02M1 (2024).
First one got scrapped and replaced by second one, with all improvements & enter mass production.
We made our first 4x4 in 2022, tested, didnt happy, scrap & make better one.
@madokafc1@0bserver4 Let alone larger-caliber systems such as 73mm, 122mm, or 125mm guns. Even their ammunition has to be imported.
Vietnam only started a few years ago, yet it has already developed a complete range of vehicles: 4×4 and 8×8 armored vehicles, tracked APCs, SPH without license.
@madokafc1@0bserver4 As for armored vehicles, PT Pindad got a 20-year head start on us with the VAB license, yet they're still relying on the VAB platform to this day.
And what has that led to? They still can't develop a 30mm turret on their own.
@madokafc1@0bserver4 Viettel makes radar, AshM, medium SAM, modern MLRS, MALE UAV...all "low level stuff" that Indonesia has to imported: GCI, Atmaca, Nasams, Astros, Turkey TB2.
Not including basic military stuffs as manpad, atgm, artillery shells, big calibre canon.
@madokafc1@0bserver4 Well, these modern frigates are license built, with core systems & weapons are imported from French/Turkey/Italia.
From Sigma corvette to Red & White frigates, nearly 20 years but you still imported all core systems.
Viettel will reveal their first domestic helicopter soon.
@masbimosuryo I have no idea why Indonesia didnt buy from Turkey, but need 2 midddle mans Czech & Israel.
It would be easier to negotiate offset/TOT for PT Lens.
@masbimosuryo You can google contract 2.8 billions usd between CSG & Republikorp.
Each ELM-2084 radar & logistic support for 20 years lifespan cost around 50 millions usd (based on Czech & Israel contracts).
A medium M-SAM II (Korean) cost around 300 millions usd.
@TobacoOcabot@049_dwi 1st prototype in 2022 (the one in research journal) was based on truck chassis. We didnt like it and developed new one, which fixed all weakness from first prototye.
I really pity you, keep hanging on outdate info & old relic.
@TobacoOcabot@RizkyAgungW5 Not making one or a few prototypes UAV then disappear.
Viettel can reverse engineering missile, radar, light helicopter, so does UAV. And we have at least 4 MALE UAV prototypes flying now.
@TobacoOcabot@RizkyAgungW5 Based on Israel's Heron, it's called reverse engineering. Not something magical appear out of nowhere.
Those short range UAVs Viettel already made from 8 years ago. The point is: they are mass producing & enter service from multi army & border patrol & coast guard.
@RizkyAgungW5 There are 2 XTC-02 prototypes in. First one in 2022 (in picture & research journal) was made from truck chasis.
2nd one which entered mass production is seperate design, different chasis. All weakness from first prototype was fixed.
So you are laughing at 4 years old relic.
@LembagaKERIS Czech Retia bought Israel radar ELM - 2084, and they are allowed to manufacture locally some components.
Trisula aka Indonesia money = Turkey Hisar & FCS radar + Czech/Israel ELM-2084 + Tatra chasis.
If there are TOT, then it is from Czech (part of radar) or Czech & Israel?
@RaccoonOfFiume@Kaiserfish1 Spike is famous & bought by many countries.
We arent only country in Asean which use Israel's military equipment eh.
Singapore, Indonesia, Philippine, Thailand
@Kaiserfish1 For performance: STV is actually better than AK74, and we are free to improve it as we go.
Looking at India and the AK-203 production line they bought from Russia, it’s clear that Vietnam refused Russia AK 103 offer and choosing Israel Galil was the right decision.
@Kaiserfish1 It's simple.
Cost & Benefit: Z111 (where we produce STV - based on Galil Ace) now produce weapon parts then export to Israel.
Self Sufficient: We can forge steel for gun barrel blank, no need to import, and free to design/produce guns as we want.
