Most pathetic customer service of @amazonIN, item is missing from my package still they are not processing refund. Inefficient supply chain, making the customer pay for their negligence. Shameful!

This is the cost of having to stay relevant at all times. And when attention is currency, this will only increase. This is bread and butter.

Last year when I joined my current firm, the onboarding team asked everyone who had joined over the last few months to fill in an informal introduction template. It had a section called 'A quote you live by'. While almost everyone wrote an inspirational line, I filled "I'm not great at advice. But can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?" - a famous punchline by Chandler Bing from the series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. During the run of the series Chandler also gave us a line which many of us awkward folks like to throw in whenever we are appreciated for our sense of humour - "I use humour as a defence mechanism".
I love Chandler. He is my favorite comic character written for a television series. He was the soul of the most popular sitcom among millennials - the first famous line of the series ('And I just want a million dollars') to the last punchline of the series ('Sure. Where?') were all given to his character by the writers.
Chandler Bing was the face of sarcasm. There was a time in the late 2010s when half of the meme pages had the word 'Sarcasm' in their name and a DP of Chandler Bing. While much credit grows to the writers and showrunners, Matthew Perry had no less of a contribution in building that reputation. He was the only actor in the series who also used to be involved with writer's room due to his natural comic talent. He used to help with the punchlines. And during the show's run he started feeling the pressure of being funny all the time which led him to mental health issues - he lost and gained weight a lot between seasons and never returned to full health.
We got to hear about the health issues from Matthew himself during the F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion. And I am so glad that the reunion finally happened in 2021 after so many cancellations and postponements - otherwise it would have been too late for it. James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther, passed away soon after the reunion. And today we lost Chandler. I remember it happened during the peak pandemic wave 2 and the episode was a welcome break from all the bad stuff happening around us - just like how the show has been for many and helped them through a dark phase of life.
I understand that Matthew and his family wouldn't ever know about my existence but few celebrity deaths feel personal for the fans. Last time I felt so bad about an actor's death when Irrfan Khan passed away.
RIP Matthew. I have been a fan since the S1E7 when you replied "Yeah, about 300 guys I went to highschool with" when Jill Goodacre asked you "Would you like to call somebody" while you two were stuck in an ATM vestibule during a blackout in New York. I hope you are in a better place now. And yes 'Gum would have been perfection'.
