Deep within the heart of the desolate Rub' al Khali, the Empty Quarter of the Arabian Peninsula, lies a tantalizing mystery: Iram, the fabled "Lost City of Giants." For centuries, whispers of this magnificent metropolis, adorned with towering pillars and inhabited by a race of colossal beings, have captivated explorers, archaeologists, and storytellers alike.

Is Iram a mere figment of legend, or does a kernel of truth reside beneath the scorching sands?

Iram's origins trace back to ancient Arabia, finding mention in pre-Islamic poetry and inscriptions. It gained wider recognition through its inclusion in the Quran, where it's referenced as "Iram of the Pillars," a city built by the 'Ad, a powerful tribe who ultimately faced divine retribution for their hubris.

As both the Qur’an and later sources mention a mysterious city called Iram of the Pillars. Today, it is more flamboyantly called the Atlantis of the Sands. Like Atlantis, it supposedly lies submerged — in this case, beneath the Arabian Desert. But despite promising leads, Iram of the Pillars remains undiscovered. 

The original passage in the Qur’an reads: “Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Aad – with Iram – who had lofty pillars, the likes of whom had never been created in the lands.”

The idea of a deity destroying a sinful city is not new. The Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) all include stories of this type. In Islam, Iram was supposedly home to the Ad people. The city was built by a king named Shaddad, a descendant of the biblical figure Noah. But this king grew greedy and opulent, forcing the prophet Hud to warn him of Allah’s dissatisfaction. King Shaddad and the Ad people disregarded the prophet’s warning. As a result, God buried the city beneath the sands of the Empty Quarter in the Arabian Desert. The sandstorm lasted eight days.

Tales surrounding Iram paint a picture of breathtaking grandeur. Towering pillars sculpted from precious stones, lush gardens defying the desert's harshness, and streets paved with gold are just a few of the embellishments woven into its lore. The city's inhabitants, the 'Ad, are often depicted as giants, further adding to the mystique.

For centuries, explorers have braved the unforgiving Arabian deserts in pursuit of Iram. T.E. Lawrence, the famed Lawrence of Arabia, dubbed it the "Atlantis of the Sands." Numerous expeditions have scoured the Empty Quarter, yielding tantalizing clues like ancient wells, caravan routes, and even the ruins of settlements possibly linked to the 'Ad. The enigma of Iram lies not just in its physical location, but also in its interpretation. Some scholars believe it refers to a specific city, while others view it as a metaphorical representation of a prosperous region or even a lost civilization.

Archaeological advancements have shed light on the ancient civilizations of Arabia. Discoveries in Oman, such as the Shisr site with its intricate water channel system, hint at a once-flourishing network of settlements in the region. However, concrete evidence confirming Iram's exact location remains elusive. Iram's allure endures not just for its historical potential, but also for the questions it provokes about human ambition, consequences of environmental exploitation, and the transformative power of myth. Whether it emerges from the sands as a tangible reality or remains an evocative figment of imagination, Iram continues to capture hearts and fuel exploration, reminding us of the mysteries that still lie buried beneath the vast expanse of the desert.

ولهذا لا تحكم على الآخرين وانت تراهم من بعيد ..
أنت لم تعيش معهم او تعرف ظروفهم
ولا تكن أيضاً أسير رأي شخص فيك لا يعلم عنك شيئا ولا يسمع إيقاع حياتك وصخبها..
الكثير يعتقدون أنك مجنون عندما لايستوعبون فكرتك وهدفك أو لايرون من منظارك،
وذلك لاتدع هؤلاء الحمقى يفسدون عليك فكرتك بسبب جهلهم..
رأيهم عنك يبقى رأي وليس حقيقة لأنهم لا يعرفون عن حياتك شيء

كل تعب تحس فيه ومشاويرك للمستشفيات احتسب فيها الاجر واعتبرها تكفير ذنوب وبتحس بسعادة حتى لو تفارق الدنيا من الحين، ما فيه احد ما عنده معاناه بعضها جسدية وبعضها روحية وبعضها اعاقات وبعضها فقد اهل والكثير والكثير ولو تفكر في هموم الناس اللي حولك راح ترجع وتقول الحمدلله على كل حال.
