I don't think its not so much about the technique but rather a psychological thing for the attacker. The trainer would be insisting that the technique of skipping towards the static target is the latest fool proof technique and the attackers low IQ will lap it up and think he's unstoppable. If the attacker thinks its foolproof he'll develop a willingness to get it done. Once things go hand to hand only the better man is going to win ether way...
